Eastend revitalized needs retail in the worst way. Bars would be fine too but I'm not sure this niche would make it. There's other, similar options nearby. That arcade by Lucky's is so close. So close.

Within 5 years the commercial rent in that area will skyrocket too, making it harder to sustain profitable revenue long-term.

Shhhh. It's still a secret and the douchebags haven't invaded yet. I'm in the process of buying up duplexes along Harrisburg.

I don't know if I want to go out to play console games. When im free at home I play video games. Now i'm going to go out and play console games? I don't see the advantages of it beating a home setting. I can invite friends over, would be cheaper food/drinks. Weed is welcomed, along with other debauchery. Dope sound system with OUR choice of music or game sounds.

But I will say, it is something different. Gives you another option than just the typical bar. So with that, I will kick start at least a dollar.

my cousin made a gaming bar a long time ago and he sold it. Not sure if it's still there now.

Personally I doubt it is. I never got the appeal. I wouldn't go to this bar besides once just to check it out.

I'm concerned that this kickstarter won't be successful. They have almost $5k donated from 29 people which is good, but that number hasn't gone up either. Hopefully it gets funded, I'm afraid gamers for the most part (especially in Houston) are too antisocial (when it comes to public settings) and too tight with their money.

Even if the kickstarter goes through I'd be concerned about the longevity. I'd definitely drive across town just to go/get out of the house, but I don't know if others would share the sentiment.

How far east? I'm trying to get something on a big lot. Or even a lot. Also trying to get with someone else to try and buy a few adjacent homes so we have the joint rights to a large lot in the future with rental income in the now.

Bars are good, man. Let the douche bags come. They're already inhabiting that area at a high rate. The young folks work downtown and like to drink. They're also not scared to track into new emerging areas that are a little sketchy (no kids).

    Embrace the douche bags!

Yeah, I'm trying to get in before an HEB or Whole Foods drops. Then it's all over.

I hope they keep all the small biz & niche commercial property alive. Art, small agencies, whatever... that'll be cool and key in keeping the area unique, like the Heights or Montrose opposed to boring like the suburbs y'all bozos love so much.

Nice idea. I'll take a gamble on it. Might not make it unless the owners have the funds on hand to push the kickstarter through.

I'm not sure how viable this is. Playing video games and going out to bars are two very distinctly different things that I enjoy very much and I don't see why I would need to combine them. If I wanted to drink and play video games with friends I'll just buy a new keg for the kegerator.

I only like the invest in things that I share a vision with, so for that reason, I'm out.

Agreed. Bars are for socializing and gamers really socialize and if they do not in an appropriate manner.

Stop watching Sharktank, you're only allowed to watch and/or comment on the Rockets. Even when they're not playing. Hop to! Chop Chop!

I lost hope with kickstarter. Majority of creators would collect the money and would not follow through with there projects. It happened to me twice
