Westbrook is the only player who is top 4 in 2 positions. Westbrook is one of the 3 or 4 best pgs and one of the 3 or 4 besg sgs. Plus he will hawk. You on defense. He's always been better than harden. Westbrook is a shot maker who don't need the refs

When this debate initially started off I remember reading something really wise from a long time member on here I didn't necessarily agree with at the time. I was pretty pro-Harden back then but now that I have gotten past my bias I know that it isn't even a question that WB is the guy you would rather have on a championship team.

    The quote was:

I'm pretty sure it was here. It sounds like a saying, not something someone just came up with on their own.

Regardless, I think it sums it up pretty well.

Let's face it, this series proves the Rox overpaid for Harden. Even going back these past 2 seasons, Harden does more bad than good when looking at the bigger picture. He depends on the foul call and isn't much clutch when the pressure is on to make big shots.

Westbrook was my fav. PG & thought he was best in the league all the seasons before the bev injury. He still needs to work on his shot selection but everything else that he does makes up for that.

Dude came back from 3 surgeries still playing at a high level.

Not trying to call you out really.. I just googled the phrase and the only 2 places I found it were this and that thread, both relating to Westbrook.

I tried and couldn't find anything here either. Maybe because the word p***y was filtered out at one point? Idk, but its a great quote.

    Harden is far better offensively.

    Westbrook defensively.

    Overall, Harden.

When the playoffs start Harden is definitely not far better.

Harden was better this year in the regular season b/c WB was injured.

If the RS was the metric of success and the post season was nonexistent.

Was interested in a comparison so here's what's I got. Of course Russ gets the obvious nod on the defensive end, but most the numbers are relatively close.

    Career Playoff per 36

    Westbrook

    22.5/5.9/6.2

    .423/.293/.836

    .514 TS%

    32.2% USG

    1.5 STL / 0.3 BLK / 3.3 TO

    PER 22.3

    Harden

    18.3/5.5/4.1

    .421/.343/.845

    .583 TS%

    22.7% USG

    1.6 STL / 0.5 BLK / 2.4 TO

    PER 19.6

A perfect example of how stats can deceive someone.

    Last 10 minutes-
    Westbrick- 4/10
    Durant- 2/3

Again, a PG is supposed to make decisions. Good ones.

Kevin Durant puts up way better numbers than Westbrook when you look at the boxscore, but its Westbrook energy which leads to so many offensive boards and second chance points on top of his ability to cause turnovers that make him arguably the most important player on OKC. This thread should be Durant vs Westbrook instead of Harden. Harden makes for a good sixth man on a championship calibur team, but his lack of defense becomes a major liability.
