Word. I pretty much buy every version of these games, especially Chrono Cross. I even have a Chrono Cross artbook. How is it they haven't made another Chrono game by now? I mean seriously... almost every JRPG series has a black sheep or two, but the Chrono games were both made of 100% grade-A awesome-sauce.
Another flash sale from Sony where everything is $5. I can easily see myself spending $15-$20 MUST HAVE RESTRAINT
http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkai...ible-ps4-exclusive-from-makers-of-dark-souls/ It's all just rumor right now, but supposedly this is the game Hidetaka Miyazaki is working on (director of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, but not Dark Souls 2). Rumor also has it that the game is being developed in conjunction with Sony's Japan Studio, which would make it a PS4 exclusive. Hopefully we'll get some kind of official confirmation soon, but who knows...
I just got a PS4 and picked up Assassin's Creed IV before The Show arrives next week. Did anybody else have a problem where there is no audible character dialogue during cutscenes?
Only rumors so far obviously, but if Project Beast is a PS4 exclusive then there's no doubt I'll be getting a PS4 when it hits. Still not getting anything right though, probably not even this year.
I haven't had a problem with audio in AC4. I do experience weird audio popping in NBA2k14 when I have the sound set to DTS
Played the demo for child of light. Very intriguing game. Might pick it up this paycheck. Love the combat and it's a beautiful side-scroller.
I saw a few of you guys mention Child of Light and I thought it was probably some cheesy game like Journey. Just saw a youtube video of it and it looks pretty good. I'll probably pick it up today with a $20 card and preorder Mario Kart 8. Wasn't planning on purchasing MK8, but Nintendo has a offer where you can get a free game through Club Nintendo if you buy it. Btw, here's a vid if anyone hasn't seen Child of Light yet. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/EuDaxVfe12o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You take that back! Child of Light does look awesome though. I identified it right away as something I want to buy, but I figure I will either buy it for PS4 or wait for it to be on sale on Steam. Since it just came out, and I still don't have a PS4 yet, I guess I'll be waiting.
Square has been making some bad decisions on what games it wants to push. They are starting to get better with FF15, KH3, and Bravely Default. Surprised there wasn't a sequel because Chrono Cross sold well when it was initially released, but I don't think it was as appreciated as it is now. I know I bought it during its original ps1 release but didn't like it back then. Think I was trying to compare it to Trigger too much and Cross was really it's own game and not so much a sequel. I love the game now but I'm still trying to convince friends to replay it because we all had hard opinions of it. They really need to focus on a new Chrono. That's what people want. No one asked for three Lightning sequels and it shows in the sales. I believe FFX HD actually out sold the most recent Lightning game
This always killed me about Cross. Yes, Trigger was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. But so many people hated on Cross, and hated on it hard, simply because it wasn't a more direct sequel, just as you say. Such a shame. I really feel like a ton of people are missing out on one of the best JRPGs of all time, just because they can't get past a knee-jerk reaction that it doesn't share a bunch of characters with the original or whatever. Yeah, wouldn't surprise me one little bit if FFX HD sold better than the Lightning games. Hopefully they get the hint that people want good games, not just pretty ones.
I got a PS4 last week and am currently playing a lot of MLB The Show 14. My PSN username is MMcAfee if anybody wants to play a game.
My wife bought herself Child of Light the other night. She's pretty in love with it. I played with her a bit, it's pretty fun. The game isn't as simplistic as it seems, I'm surprised she does as much of the micromanaging (controlling Igniculus and so on) as she does since she's definitely a casual gamer.
