As Chris Rock says I'm not saying he should have killed her but I understand.

First of all we're in India. This dude is looking for a wife. He's been talking to this chick for 3 years! Maybe he couldn't afford to see her earlier. What did she think was going to happen in person?

He was embarrassed. Who knows what personal stuff he shared? Cat fishing is fun and games for a few weeks...3 years is cruel.

A friend of mine who is old enough to know better still takes a few years off her age when doing online dating. I don't understand that in anyone seeking a long-term relationship. If things do start to actually work out, they'll find out that you lied outright and they will never know what else you might be lying about. Outright falsehoods are a whole different level than just the usual polite behavior, carefully applied makeup, etc. that are accepted on first dates (not to mention at work or at nice events).

In this case, no excuse for what he did of course but you have to wonder why they waited that long to meet. People - if you haven't met in person yet, then do not take any of it seriously. It does not count. You don't even know who's on the other side of that connection really, or how long you will get along even if no one's lying. You may just have different images of each other than what actually exists (not just a picture, but personality-wise). I thought people had understood that for the last 15 years or so.
