Um, why wouldn't they keep 3? Keenum and Yates are basically minimum wage and O'Brien needs all the evaluation time he can get. I'll be shocked if they don't carry 3.

I mean they might not carry 3. That's a legit possibility, depends entirely on what Obrien thinks of either Keenum or Yates as projects. If he has no interest in them then I could definitely see them going with just 2.

But, I think Savage is such a project that he probably can't even be your backup this year meaning they will keep 3.

I think T.J. gets dealt for "future considerations".

    Getting that feeling but

If you took TJ and allowed him back in this draft
with all his experience here . . . would he still be a 5th round pick in this draft?

Send TJ to Baltimore for a 6th rounder.

Me too. Murray has more potential upside.

Unlikely. QB's are drafted in the 5th-7th rounds taking fliers on hidden upside. TJ doesn't seem to have any real upside thus far, so he loses value, even if he proved himself to be a decent functional backup QB. There are plenty of TJ types out there, so there's no need to spend a draft pick on one.

    He didn't exactly suck in college. 21 TD 9 INT's 61% COMP 138.2 QBR

Jay Cutler's last year in college.

    21 TD 9 INT's 59% COMP 126.1 QBR

why? just to say we took a first round qb?? who would they have drafted? its clear they didnt want bridgewater, they could have easily gave a better offer than minnesota.., they passed on carr at 33. imo garappolo was a reach and belichicks reasoning is fairly strange. many felt savage dropped and the others got drafted much later..

This is the worst pick of the Texans draft. This guy is pure garbage. No accuracy at all. If you can't complete a high percentage in college, its not happening in the NFL. #55 in completion percentage last year and 61%. For comparison, Bridgewater completed 71% and Manziel 70%.

Dudes line was made of paper. Certainly played a factor in his completion percentage. He does sail passes sometimes but his accuracy is not terrible, we aren't talking about a Jake Locker here.

Slow, innaccurate, questionable ability to read defenses.

Of course the fans love it.

His accuracy sucks...the reason he is even that high is bc such a large percentage come on screens and dump offs.

I think that can be fixed though...I love his arm strength.

Still would have preferred Murray though, that guy can be good.

They took Savage because they feel there is a small % that he can become a very good NFL QB, if not he is a quality back up or they wasted what amounts to a 5th round pick. The Texans DO value the QB position, which why they didn't draft Bortles, Manziel or Bridgewater in Rd 1. The Texans don't want a revolving door of QB's that were reaches like the Browns and Jags have had for years. The Texans will take a QB in round 1 when they feel there is one worthy.

Ha, someone is angry we didn't waste our #1 pick on Manziel.
