You ordering me to chill is like my two-year old telling me she's not going to bed when I tell her. I laugh, turn out the light and close her door.
According to Perfect Game, Jake Cosart is the #2 junior college prospect for the 2014 Draft. The top guy is Robbie Dickey, a RHP from Blinn. They're expected to go in the 2nd-3rd rounds.

haha! go to the bridgewater thread and bigtexxx is connected at the hip to the LOU/UH game. Not a surprise to see him hating Carlos Rodon as well.

I've seen Aaron Nola pitch live for 3 straight years. That kid is a phenomenal competitor who absolutely pounds the zone with strikes. He could have had a no-no last night against a pretty good Va Tech team but LSU pulled him after 87 pitches and 7 innings. I'm not saying he should go number 1, but I am saying I think this kid is going to be a very good major league pitcher.
Completely agree on Nola. I've also seen him pitch many times and he's very impressive, even against high quality competition in the sec
Well actually, he is in love with Bortles and his 50 yard screen passes. I will never forget that Baylor game where he spammed the board about his TD passes, which happened to be 98% of the WR making people miss. Anyways back to the real topic. Rodon a fireball throwing lefty. Please.

Repost The 1st Baseball America mock Spoiler Perfect Game: Top Tools FWIW, Perfect Game had the Astros taking Jeff Hoffman 1st and Maryland RHP Jake Stinnett with the Competitive Balance pick they got from the Orioles. Spoiler
Another potential top 10 pick goes down for TJ surgery. UNLV Ace Erick Fedde To Have Tommy John Surgery Between Hoffman and Fedde, there's decent odds the astros could get a top-10 talent fall to them at 37. Baseball America did a write-up on the teams with multiple picks that could afford to take an overslot injury-risk talent.
I just hope we get the best player in the draft. If we get one of those guys too then great, but I don't want a "lesser" first pick who will take less money, I want the best player...whoever that is
I don't even know how to reply to that. For some reason that came off as such a bandwagoney reply. There's also your implication that the FO wouldn't take the clear top prospect on their board just for monetary reasons. I mean wow.
Really? What I'm saying is really pretty simple. I don't want us to take someone who will sign for less, allowing us more money to sign another later pick who might have signing issues. I want the best player available, is there really something wrong with me saying that?
Point 1: Saying 'i want them to draft the best player' is a meaningless phrase because that's objective #1 for them and every other team. The Astros have already shown they're willing to take the top guy on their board (Appel) and pay him the going rate ($6m for Appel). Point 2: You want the best player. Tell me who the best player is. Saying you want the best player means nothing; it's a lot harder to make a decision than that. This year (like 2012 and many years) there's no consensus #1. It was Rodon, but his slow start turned it back into a three-horse race with Aiken and Kolek. Plenty of mock's have Aiken at #1 over Rodon. So who is the best player? You admit you have no idea. All you can do is complain in retrospect that the player they drafted wasn't the BPA (see all the pro-Gray and pro-Bryant fans). Point 3: If Aiken says he'd sign for $4.8m and Rodon wants full-slot ($7.5m), the Astros would have to think long and hard about that, because even if Rodon hypothetically was slightly higher on their board that's a huge difference. Hell you can't discount the idea that the Astros could a) prefer Aiken and b) Aiken would sign for cheaper. Its not mutually exclusive. That entirely could have been the situation with Correa. There's zero way to know what their thought process is.
