People will say this draft was run by O'Brien but we've never seen Rick do work without Kubiak blowing smoke up his you know what. Think Rick is a keeper.
Yeah. It's hard to really know what goes on behind the scenes but I think position coaches, coordinators, head coaches influence 90% of every pick made by every team in the league. Scheme fits, familiarity, etc Regardless of that this is easily the best overall Texans draft since 2006. Maybe the best period.
They definitely will upgrade the horrible depth that injuries created last season with the 3 picks in the 6th rd. I'm not surprised if the QB BO' B likes in this draft is still around for the Texans in the late 4th. I don't know who it is though..McCarron, Metenberger, Murray, Savage, Fales
Maybe at the end of the day BOB sees something in Keenum and Fitz, where he is comfortable to pass on these QB's in the draft and strengthen everywhere else which he has done. Everyone gave Kubiak a year with Carr to see if he could do anything with him. Why not BOB a chance at Keenum and see if he knows what he is doing. Worst case we build up even more in next years draft with more QB's coming out. Could they possibly be thinking that the rest of the QB's are not worth it at this point?
It depends on how he has the rest of the QB's graded. I'm still thinking he'll take a Tom Savage or Aaron Murray if they are available in the 4th.
correct me if I'm wrong but the Texans have 5 remaining picks. r4 - 135 r5 - 0 r6 - 177, 211 r7 - 216, 256
Haha Lmao thats what i was thinking, but i think it was a good draft if everything pans out. Also, our previous drafts haven't looked good so this draft seems like a big achievement.
I think it has more to do with that... Lol... I'm not excited about this draft at all so far. Although I like Nix. Could end up being a great value pick because if he's healthy he's what this defense is missing most. But the two picks before him... Meh...
Well it's a draft that is getting almost universal praise. When you get the overall best player in the draft and #1 pass rusher to go along with the #1 guard prospect and the #1 true NT and a Gronk clone in the first 3 rounds.....you're doing really well. I think there is a fairly good chance that they'll target him. He's the definition of a project QB, but he has the physical tools, he just needs someone to make them work for him.
Well it is true that he isn't quite as fast on long runs and isn't as polished when it comes to route running, however he has the size, better short range quickness, solid hands, and he blocks better than Gronk. I think they'll be used in a very similar fashion.
warming up to Logan Thomas. If we are going to take a QB to develop, it should be this guy. He has all the physical tools and athlethic ability you would want.
