Does watching Portland getting destroyed make the Rockets' loss even more painful?

San Antonio is a better playoff team. You realize they won championships right?

Regular season wins over them really don't mean much because Popovich always limits the minutes of their top guys.

 

Makes me sad.

We should have been the ones getting our asses kicked right now.

 

San Antonio would be beating us by 40 if we played them like we did Portland.

 

At least people can see how big of a gap we still have before being a legit contender. Our players like to talk about competing for a ring, but they still don't know how to actually put in the work and effort required.

 

So they need a competent coach to guide them which we dont have.

Nope. It confirmed that Portland team sucks and we should be in Round 2. Basically, it confirmed a lucky team that got in the 2nd round when they should not have and that's why they got whooped and rightly so.

 

Why would anyone watch that series?
We all knew Portland would get destroyed by SA.
Only real series are LAC VS OKC. and maybe INd vs WAs.
I'm just hoping for a good finals match up

 

I think it's very easy to blame the coaching, but I think it runs deeper than that.

There are some issues with the players not truly committed and dedicated to playing as a unit. Chemistry isn't quite there.

Coaching can only do so much.

 

It took mchale two home losses to change something up. I look at Popovich yelling at his players with a 16 pt lead. I like Mchale but there were too many wtf moments in the playoffs.

 

I think it would have been impossible to expect the chemistry to fully be there in one year. Even the Heat had problems in Year 1. Rockets need 1-2 more quality pieces (and we have the assets to get those) and a legit coach, then I think you are looking at a serious contender.
