There is a potential issue with Nix only being a two down player but I think he can get on the field on 3rd downs. He has enough from the 1 gap to push the pocket and if he gets 1 on 1s it will be a big problem for QBs. Mercilus Nix Watt Clowney Dirty front four on 3rd downs. Oof
Agreed. You have your 3 . . . in your three four and all of them under 27 [how old is watt?] Rocket River
Lance seems to think that Romeo will play a lot of nickel, which means no NT on the field. 33 may be too high to spend on a guy who won't be on the field that much.
Nix will be a big time bust. Don't understand the hype at all. Won't last 3 years in the league with how out of shape he is.
If we really are only going to play 30% of the time in base packages, NT would be a rough sell at 33, especially one with knee problems.
Fair point. Isn't Nix supposed to be fairly versatile and able fit in many schemes? Even some 4-3 fronts benefit from a space eater who commands the double. Don't know details about the prospects, but I like the idea of taking a NT.
I thought Nix's drop from the first round was due to knee issues or something. And I think they just reported that Cleveland knew that Gordon would be suspended for at least part of the season 2 weeks before the draft and still didn't draft Watkins with their first pick.
No, the stupid fans that judge player talent on combines rather than years of actual performance on the field.
