Harden will learn from this. I'm also against the idea of adding more super-stars which basically will just be another OKC which in my eyes, I don't think Harden was looking for when he signed with the Rockets. In order to chase greatness, you have to learn all assets of the game and then some. Believe me Harden wants that glory for the Rockets and I believe he will get it with time and patience. Is Mchale really the problem when Harden didn't even obeyed orders from your commander and chief to "stick with you guy?" With that being said, I say no to K-love/Melo or even Rondo. Harden wants greatness, you better earn it and go get it. Lillard seems to understand this concept.
Plus, I think Harden had a problem being the 3rd wheel. Remember, he was playing 3rd banana to two perimeter players. I don't think he'd mind as much if we had a 3rd star playing power forward. That said, I'd much rather get a cheaper guy on Millsap's level or something and bolster the bench. No sense in having a 3rd star if he'd be relegated to playing like a role player - the way Love would be if he played here.
Harden's role would have grown if he had stayed with OKC. He had too much talent. Durant's and WB's stats would have dipped a little, but the team would have grown stronger as a whole because they would have 3 lethal offensive weapons. But Harden has a lot to work with in Houston. A dominant big. A very good SF. Decent bench. What he needs to do is grow from within. A strong mindset to want to defend; a stronger mindset to make impact plays when you don't have your offense going... No excuse for his poor play this postseason facing a below mediocre defensive team.
Typical Clutchfans overhyping and kneejerking. Lillard is a great player, but hardly elite. Tony Parker is a lot different than Lin and a broken down Beverley.
You must not be watching the spurs series... Lilliard is a trash players nightmare. He only plays great against average to mediocre PG's in the league witch equals out to more that half the league. Against the star/all star PG's he is trash. Parker, Paul, curry, rose(when healthy) and Westbrook are the real stars. They play great night in and night out no matter who they play against. Lilliard is just a good player.
2nd year brother. This is good experience for him playing v. an experienced elite PG who has gone through the championships.
not many nba fans, even rockets fans, were aware that beverley had the flu all series long. that helps lilliard a lot
clutchfans picking on a 2nd year player in his first playoffs... who already won a series single handedly for his team. rome wasn't built in a night
Lillard is a all-star player...but his shot selection and his playmaking...getting his team involved and being a PG could use some work for him to go that SUPERSTAR level.
No, Lillard isn't hot garbage. Yes, he often plays great against average and mediocre PGs. His upside isn't TP, WB, Rose or CP3. Assuming his judgement and shot selection improve going forward (which did not happen AT ALL during his 2nd year), he will be good enough for the Blazers to overpay the summer of 2015. One thing we know for sure: A star wasn't born during the Rockets series. Those 6 games were more about the Rockets deficiencies than anything else.
Rockets defense (especially with Beverley playing with a torn ligament) made Lillard look a lot better.
