Did anyone see the season finale? Hopefully it's the season finale and not series. I thought it was good.
I liked it. Although I'd like another season, I'm satisfied with that ending. It was a nice little "comeback" season for community, enjoyed it all the way through
I think a true series finale should actually bring resolution to the characters. This finale they saved Greendale, but there was no character development. Presumably they will all return back to classes after this. We don't know what will become of them. If we get a final season 6 (let's be honest, there's no way this sitcom will continue on for more than that), the series finale needs to address the group and where they are headed. Give us a general idea of what they are doing for the rest of their lives.
Well, Dan Harmon had wanted to start to move some of the story away from the actual college and out into the real world. How many years can you spend at a Community College? But then he was taken off the show and then Season 4 happened so he thought he needed to get things back on track AT Greendale. Now that Greendale is "saved", I wonder if they'll pursue Harmon's idea if they're given a 6th season.
Remember, if it doesn't come back that means a meteor hit the earth and killed all human life, it's canon.
I realize all that, but I also can also accept this ending. I know who these characters are and who they will be in the future. This gave them a final are entire and assured they would be "together forever." It reminded me a lot of Newsradio, actually the whole show did.
The show got two more seasons than expected because NBC literally forgot how make things. Advertisers may like the demographics, but actors' salaries always go up and at some point without similarly trending ratings it becomes unprofitable.
true but the cast got rid of all the people that didn't want to be there (glover, chevy) and everyone there seem like the type to make sacrifices for one season. This show is so unpopular that nothing has gotten to the actors' heads.
At least they joked about this potential demise in the last episode, it'll be missed though. Got a better run than some shows.....
That dig at NBC at the very end of the finale was great. Hilarious and extremely accurate. I'll definitely miss Community and I think they could have come up with enough quality content for a 6th season and a movie. However, the finale that they got wasn't the worst way to end the series.
Word is that Sony is shopping it to cable networks and on demand providers to get the 6th season and possible movie.
