He would play inside at base.

But no, I can't imagine them wasting money to resign him to significant dollars.

Not if that QB finds a way to throw ducks....something im not worried about with Fitzpatrick...its his questionable decisions to throw into double/triple coverage...Lee would be a luxury pick; Tuitt, I think would be a better decision. This info clearly indicates that the Texans believe their QB will be available in the 3rd or latter...

Think they should be looking for secondary help as well?

I'm fine with either one, though I would rather have Tuitt since that's a bigger need right now. Louis Nix is another guy, though I feel like I'm missing something because his value is so different across boards.

Trading down is another scenario that I like. The more picks the better.

    "Swag" / X

    Jackson Joseph

    merciless/Cushing/Reed/Clowney

    X / X/watt

If we don't get a Qb
We need to fortify that D-line and some defensive back help. With watt and our LBs healthy, the pass rush we will generate through A,B and C gaps will be demoralizing for the Offense. This will allow our corner backs to have a bounce back year. at least, i'm hoping.

3rd round should be for the Tackle and 4th for linebacker depth.

I think the corners not having to play one on one man coverage every single play is going to help them out a lot. Romeo will mix up his coverage a lot more than Wade did.

Are we 100% sure Brooks Reed is going to work out as an ILB? I think the Texans should have a safety net in case that doesn't work out.

No. I don't even know if he'd be successful there. It's just that he's nearly invisible as an OLB so the fans speculate that he might be better inside. Wade didn't want to move him. Who knows if Romeo does. They might look at him and think he'd be worse as an ILB.

I still think we need somebody back there who could shoulder the load somewhat if Cush goes down again. Reed might be fine lined up next to Cush, but I don't think he's THAT guy.

There will end up being a Brady James/Joe Mays type that comes available after the draft/OTA's/mini camp if the need to apply a short term patch.

I think we are reasonably sure he'd work out there. He's pretty solid against the run and he's always looked a bit small for OLB. Also, he's got a pretty good LB coach

It's more than fan speculation. Also, it would play to his strengths.

I don't think he's small for an OLB. He was a tweener DE coming out of Arizona. Small for DE but not for OLB.

I'm really talking more about how he plays than what his height and weight are, he plays small if that makes any sense. However, when it comes to his height and weight, he's the same height, and 5 pounds lighter (depending on the source) than Cushing.

This isn't true. They told Brooks Reed he was moving to ILB when he reported to camp last year. But then the other options at OLB got hurt/washed out.

Wade did defend Reed's performance as an OLB however and said that they had him drop into coverage or engage a block a lot and that's why his sack totals were low. Still, he was going to be moved so it's not fan speculation.

Just go ahead and fully commit to building on that defensive line. Take Tuitt who I'd love if you can't trade down.

Marqise Lee is intriguing although there are plenty of other receivers that can be had later in the draft; Latimer, Adams, Moncreif, even Ellington who better fits the slot role we're looking to fill.

You both are assuming they even like Manziel. There is a chance they barely liked him too and as such then it would not have made sense to move up for him AT ALL.

Williams is BY FAR the best player.

Texans would have kept Mario if his asking price wasn't insanely high. Mario Williams is a multiple time Pro Bowler (and probably will make a few more in his career) and you can't even compare him to a QB that is fighting to stay in the league and a mostly back up RB lol.
