Everyone would not have been happy with trading up for Manziel. There are tons of fans that wanted no part of him.
Posted in the other thread also but: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I hear the Texans pick is coming down to Stephon Tuitt or Marqise Lee, unless they trade down which is possible. <a href="http://t.co/W1GGWQASE9">http://t.co/W1GGWQASE9</a></p>— Charlie Campbell (@DraftCampbell) <a href="https://twitter.com/DraftCampbell/statuses/464805339796627457">May 9, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I haven't read any of the live posts from last night. But man... wtf was Rick Smith lounging with the owners like they were in some suite? Where was the "war room" with laptops, phones, and papers everywhere. They looked to relaxed for people in charge of a franchise on draft day. I bring more **** to a fantasy football draft.
That is so freaking true. My league of accountants would slaughter me if I showed up like Rick Smith (and his demeanor). There is no victory in my league, with that. Our long-standing champ, the Hebrews, will kill you.
why not? Tuitt plays the 3 tech in the 3/4 and would replace Antonio Smith at DE. He has 1st round talent. I still hope we go QB here, but Tuitt wouldnt be a bad pick.
Marqise Lee would give the Texans a legit slot receiver, something OBrien is said to covet. Tuitt would be the perfect replacement for Antonio as the other DE in the base 3-4. When they moved into dime, you'd have Mercilus, Watt, Tuitt, and Clowney lined up.
Where is it going to get ugly. Here? LOL! And nothing will likely beat VY shredding the Texans on the ground with that OT victory in 2006... and Mario had also gotten off to a "slow" start then. In the end, the Titans continued to go south while the Texans eventually surpassed them. If this franchise can withstand THAT event, against the old Oilers, having not taken the home-grown player coming off one of the greatest college football seasons ever (with a national championship)... they'll survive whatever Manziel does (or doesn't do) up north.
I'll say this, if they take Lee, it would be hard for a QB not to be successful with the weapons they'd have on the team.
