Apparently not! They are being destroyed by the Spurs. Maybe it is time to take the Rockets less seriously.

Portland isn't **** when they play a team with even a half way decent coach and the refs don't help them out.

Not to go all conspiracy theorist but I'd be super curious to see what the action on the Blazers/Rockets looked like before the series started. Splitter being credited for the exact same defense Asik played only with 1/4 the fouls called. Not saying coaching wasn't a problem, it was, but can't ignore the disparity in refereeing these two series.

Maybe, but we matched up better against the Spurs, although that was regular season.

I don't think the Blazers were prepared for what they encountered. They must have worked hard to learn how to defend us but that type of defense just isn't working against the Spurs.

im sorry guys, but splitter is a better defender than asik, thats a fact. Overall ill take splitter over asik by a hair.
asik : better reb, better p & r defender and thats it.
splitter: better off player by a large margin, better positional defender. Splittter uses his body great.

no surprise to see blazers getting their asses whooped without their touch fouls.

the reffing in these two series seem to be the same as it was for the nets. Against Toronto Joe Johnson repeatedly pushed off Ross and Derozan and them playing extremely physical on defense without getting a foul while if Jonas or Amir touched anyone it was a foul. The script flipped on them in the miami series where they can't even buy a call now and are clearly outclassed when playing on even terms.

A lot of people thought Blazers and Spurs would be the "dream" matchups for the Rockets. It just tells you how much we overrated the Rockets.

They are still overrated, but damn that says so much about the rockets too.

Generally. . . . I look at the teams with the bigger stars
for PRO REFFING to be on their side
    that doesn't always happen

but Reffing is the #1 indicator of who wins a game

I feel that I might be going off on a limb to describe the state of the Portland Trailblazers since it has only been two games. Let's just say that the team is flat out SPOILED, period. They went from playing against a poorous perimeter defense in their previous series to playing against a hard nosed perimeter defense in this current series. The one thing I feel that I can say about these first two games is that they got the shock treatment.

In some ways, I have a feeling that this series will be a rather short one (could be a sweep, if anything) the way it is going, but mainly based on what the Trailblazers haven't even done yet in these playoffs. They have yet to even play a game in which they lead throughout rather than their opponent have the lead too much of the time. Sure they got by with doing that with the Rockets, but they can't do that with the Spurs. The reason for that is pretty simple, which is the Spurs have the killer instinct, while the Rockets don't have it.

lol @ everyone insinuating the blazers beat us because of the refs.

how about you blame our defense? take responsibility.

the blazers deserved to beat us.

Splitter wasnt very good when he first got into the NBA.

I think the coaching helped him become what he is today,
and to a certain extent, Kawhi.
