Manziel and Bridgewater will both be out of the league in 5 years. Book it. We need to at least give our new coach the benefit of the doubt his first year and see what kind of qb he wants to groom. Stop being so freegin' fair weather .

You can rationalize it all you want. The facts are the texans believe that they would rather trade for a guy that probably would have been out of the league had he gotten a chance to play because they VALUE their picks too much to part with one on the off-chance that they were actually wrong.

    Makes perfect sense to me.

We didn't make the playoffs with Mario genius... Lol... It's funny how Texans fans take gratification in that. Probably because they hate VY so much.

The new coach wanted a quarterback. I think he wanted Blake. But couldn't justify drafting him #1. The Texans let the media make the pick for them. The Jags said F it....

    I don't think that's what happened.

Remember the biggest knock on clowney was his effort, now also remember that the Texans didn't feel that was a issue with Clowney.

The Jags have said F it for a while now, reaching on picks. It hasn't gone very well for them.

Well it was reported that McNair wanted Clowney, Smith wanted Mack, and O'Brien wanted a quarterback... McNair won...

The Jags have a darn good new GM and head coach. That's not the same old front office. We'll see how it works.

Why do you think that Manziel and Bridgewater can be franchise quarterbacks and others can't? Based on what? Ever hear of a guy named Ryan leaf? He was supposed to be better than a guy named Peyton manning coming out of college...here is a more recent one, a guy named Matt leinart was drafted before Aaron Rodgers.

I wasn't aware how many people were in the war room with McNair, Smith, and BOB. You all seem to know exactly how it went down.

It's possible they just drafted a HoF player to go right next to another possible HoF player, creating one hell of a d-line.

Maybe they wanted Bridgewater and maybe they didn't. Maybe what Seattle wanted was unreasonable. Maybe they didn't answer the Texans call at all. There is a plan with contingencies. Just because they don't share it with any of you doesn't make them incompetent or disorganized.

    Sucks.... Lol.

Maybe allow a first round draft pick to have a few snaps at the NFL level?

    .... Haters gonna hate....

    Ready for today's draft .

If you want a good laugh go back and read the draft threads after they took JJ Watt.

People really think manziel and teddy are long term franchise saving Super Bowl qbs? You guys are delusional. This draft has no franchise qb. I think bill knows a little more about qbs than any of us so let him make his moves before you judge.

I was all for getting rid of Smith with Kubiak, but at this point that is on Bob. Not trading a bunch of your picks when you have so many holes isn't the reason I wanted him gone though.

Hoarding later round picks is actually a good strategy, it's Smith's track record with those picks that is the problem.

You don't take a QB just because you need one. The right one needs to be there. There wasn't a good one. Maybe it'll be Carr, but personally, I hope we don't take a QB in the 2nd or trade for Mallett. We have other holes to fill. We'll get a QB when the right one shakes lose. Right now, that may be Fitzpatrick.
