I know this much. It can't be any worse than watching the 2-14 Houston Texans and their pick fest. I actually feel sorry for Watt. Instead of getting help with the offense so he doesn't have to be on the field 24/7/365, now instead he gets to babysit a "once in a generation prodigy" who took a lot of plays off last year. Good luck with that.
This is way beyond Manziel. You believe in this trash organization even after a 2-14 season. You believe in this crappy GM and Owner even after over a decade of futility and hopelessly poor draft choices. You welcome more futility. You make the "safe" pick yet again. Fair enough. You're welcome to it. I look forward to chuckling and SMH at the Texans and their bitter fans when they cheer having their injured QB yanked after another pick.
What I don't understand is the draft is only 1 day in and already some sites are proclaiming "the best draft class of all the teams" (walterfootball.com) by the Browns. They give the Browns an A+ for selecting JFF...but give the Texans a B+ for drafting Clowney. As if there was another option for pick 1.1. The standard rating for any team picking 1.1 and drafting the consensus #1 should start at an A. We dodged a bullet with JFF...last thing we needed was JFFOF merging with the LOF to muddle this forum.
I'm not expecting the Texans to take a QB at #33. But I guess my fear it that they'll take one in the 3rd and because of that, they won't take one next year. Maybe they take one if one falls to the right spot, but they're not going to aggressively pursue one. 3rd round QB predictably doesn't work out and we're still looking for a QB in 2016, basically wasting 2 years in the process. I reiterate that I'd prefer them to just say "**** it" and not bother drafting a QB. Try again next year instead of feeling you need to give a 3rd rounder "time" and tread water for an extra year. Taking a 3rd round QB shouldn't mean that you're not in the market for another one the next year, but that's often how it works out. EDIT: Research time. No team that has taken a QB in the 3rd round in the last 15 years has addressed QB in the following draft. That said, a couple of teams have followed up a 2nd round QB pick with another high QB pick the following year. Miami drafted John Beck, Chad Henne, and Pat White all in the 2nd round in consecutive years. Carolina drafted Jimmy Clausen in the 2nd round and then Cam Newton 1st overall the following year.
I love non-sequiturs as much as the next guy, but there is a time and place for them. Anyway, I'll play along. No, I didn't cheer when Schaub went down. Are you going to ask me about when the Oilers moved next? How about asking where I was on my 21st birthday? Okay how about we stick to the conversation at hand now that's over with
Hey guys, maybe Coach Bill likes what he has seen in Keenum and thinks he can help him improve. Right? RIGHT??
Oh you mean like being insulting and dissmissive of other fan's opinions? That kind of staying on topic? I've seen your reputation here among other posters Bobby. You're the definition of a troll. I'll post tonight and not be back for months on end. You'll be here spewing your opinions, and boring others to death for months on end. But mostly what you'll do is end up on a lot of people's ignore lists.
No, the definition of a troll would be a Browns fan on a Texans board whining about who the Texans picked or didn't pick and talking ish about the franchise. Believe it or not, Browns boards do exist, you should probably look for one.
Ill trust whatever decision Bill O Brien makes regarding a QB. His track record is nothing too doubt.
No & no RT @Neloquent: Did the texans even target Bridgewater? If not is it because they have a deal in place to get Mallet? — Jayson Braddock (@JaysonBraddock) May 9, 2014 On #Texans QB, personally I thought they should of traded up for Bridgewater. Informed that wasn’t their guy. Asked about JFF, no interest — Jayson Braddock (@JaysonBraddock) May 9, 2014 Know for a fact they would RT @texansinfo: so you think if both had been there at 33, we still would have gone a different direction? — Jayson Braddock (@JaysonBraddock) May 9, 2014
You know as well as I do that if I hadn't been a rabid Texans fan in the past years I simply wouldn't give a crap and wouldn't be here. The Browns comment I made was in support of their decision to draft Manziel...a team that has had a smart draft. But one thing we know about you. You're a well known troll here. And you especially troll Aggies, Manziel fans, just to get a rise out of them. Just like you're doing here tonight. TROLL away little troll.
If you really were a "rabid Texans fan" you wouldn't be turning your back on the team simply because they didn't like a QB you did. Anyway, I'm not trolling you, I'm just suggesting that if Manziel is more important to you than your Texans fandom, find a Browns thread, no one will miss you.
Anyway, if you thought being a Manziel fan rather than a Texans fan was going to be welcomed on these boards then you obviously missed every interaction between Rockets fans and Lin fans.
