Sucks that I liked the guy so much, but I'm gonna hoping he busts so I don't feel sad the rest of his career.
I don't think the Texans are going to draft Carr. I'm not convinced they are going to draft a QB at all. I think they will try to trade for a guy like Mallet and gut it out for a year until the next draft.
Texans are the sucker at the poker table. Everyone else is just fighting over our pot because they know we'll be first to get knocked out. They'll even cooperate and laugh as we get our asses handed to us and walk out the room with our tail between our legs.
trade a pick for mallet with a pick that could have been used to get Bridgewater? this team disgusts me.
Ponder might as well pack his bags. Weapons like Patterson, AP, and Rudolph for Teddy will be lethal.
The dream is dead. But at least guys like OMR or endoftheworld were right when they said Bridgewater wouldn't drop past the first round
Just curious for those bashing the Texans. If Bridgewater becomes a bust or just another mediocre QB like a Ryan Fitzpatrick, will you guys make a thread bashing yourselves about how r****ded you all are? I don't know how TB will turn out. I'm not a professional talent evaluator and I don't pretend to be one. But if Bridgewater lasted all the way to pick 32, it would mean a lot of NFL scouts don't think much of him. Right now if you are to ask me if I will take Matt Schaub's career or Bridgewater's career, I would pick Schaub and won't even think twice about it. I would throw out a tip jar bet except any true conclusions won't come for at least another 2-3 years. It's possible Bridgewater proves me wrong and becomes the next Drew Brees(similar draft position), but odds are the Texans passed on a QB that is unlikely to amount to much.
Some people are capable of forming their own opinions on prospects and realize that NFL front offices make mind-bogglingly stupid decisions all the time. Sure, Bridgewater's ability is up for debate. What is not up for debate is the Texans decade + long track record of embarrassing incompetence, and that's why they're not going to get the benefit of the doubt from those that like Bridgewater. But sure if Bridgewater flames out and the Texans actually do something useful with this pick I'll be happy to admit I was wrong.
