Partly. Most of the elite QB's had somewhat of an understand of reading defenses prior to the NFL... you also gotta put in the extra hours/work, learn how to suppress his scrambling instincts (which won't fly for long), and be receptive enough to coaching.
Not really. Brees, Kaepernick, Dalton ????? I wouldn't call that a lot. QB's are actually typically overrated, which is why a lot typically go in the 1st and a relative few good one drop to rounds 2 and 3.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Texans not only don't trade up, but don't take JFF/Bridgewater at 33 if they're there.
And when was the last time they didn't have that? I believe they have the max national TV games again this year... after yet another 8-8 non-playoff season.
Like one other poster has said in this draft, I don't understand the hate for Manziel. Glad he wasn't taken #1, but the shade he's getting for falling in the draft, from CF, is ridiculous.
If Manziel is available at 25 for some reason, I think you gotta trade up for him. He won't be though.
Something tells me they might be targeting Garaoppolo all along, hoping that another team would buy into the hype & take Manziel & Bridgewater ahead.
Aaron Donald is an AMAZING pick if you have the scheme to fit him. The Rams are going to make noise next year.
