I'm talking about next year. This yr? Hell yea we expected to beat Portland in the first round and I'm still disgusted at how it was given away. But even if we got past Portland we weren't making it to the finals this season.

What still has me upset is the retention of McHale tbh. But nothing I can do about that but hope a strong assistant comes in and helps. another plus with the heightened expectations is if Rox don't perform next year Mchale will be dead man walking. But sadly it will have meant a year wasted. Hopefully a lead assistant comes in and is a real asset to the coaching staff.

I would be all for it if we have a reliable system so that we don't see a lot of drop off from starter to bench players, look at Spurs.

Our system relies too much on individual talent to beat down the defense, and on the defense end we don't even have a system.

With how McHale runs the team, half of our roster would be injured by playoff because they get 40+ min every game.

With McHale still here this free agent better be Shane "Battle" Battier. As player or assistant. As I said in another thread.. played under JVG, Hubie Brown, and two championship teams. All great defensive coaches and teams. He'll help lead and mentor our young players. He knows what it takes to win and be successful. He'll bring the work ethic, discipline and energy. He needs to come in and work with Harden, Daniels, and Parsons. This move would improve our team tremendously.

Probably because we don't know what - if anything - is happening. We at least need a name before we can start throwing out the RP gif.

the officials are in love with "the big 3" concept and will dismantle and retool the team over and over again to make it so. They don't understand the concept of chemistry and also seem to have forgotten even the big 3 of Miami failed for awhile before getting it together. Oh well...

I want to see something similar to the Ron Artest signing.
    Two ideal targets are
    Marion via FA
    Rondo via Trade

Championship windows close fast,we can't have a "wait till next year" approach, need to put all chips on the table and be aggressive in pursuing legitimate talent.

Hypothetically if OKC loses and we could turn Asik, Lin, TJones and Parsons into Ibaka and Rondo, followed by a coach that can run some defense I would be thrilled.

You really think they'd trade Ibaka before Westbrook?

I know it's blasphemous to doubt Morey around here moving Asik and Lin are very improbable things. Of course I love to be proven wrong....

Welp. Looks like if Melo/LeBron(lol)/Bosh wants us, we can make it happen.

    Yup.

If the Rockets get a commitment from a free agent/trade they want (Anthony/Love/Lowry(?)) they will go ALL in and use the MLE etc, to build the bench.

I seriously doubt Morey would say that if he didn't have complete confidence that he can make the necessary cap room. Same sort of speech as last year when we were all nervous around draft time and a deal didn't happen. He knows what he's doing. Getting a star to choose us is a different animal, but after reading this tweet, I'm confident that creating cap space will not be an issue.
