If they got a QB they believed in and stocked up on picks, I couldn't argue with it. And I'm saying that as someone who really doesn't believe in Bortles at all...like..not at all...

I don't think that kind of draft would ever be okay'd. I could see BOB and McNair both running into the war room in the middle of the second with security guards, a rail, a vat of tar, and a bag of feathers for Smith if he did something like that.

preparing for a better QB class next year by using a first round pick on a QB now?

The point is, if Smith did that, he would have already had the OK to do so.

In some ways it might be more interesting if the Texans do something stupid with the pick like get Mack or Bortles so that we could have a few dozen threads trying to justify the OLB from Johnny Buckwheat Jr College or the QB nobody wants.

Pretty sure this has been my most refreshed Twitter/clutchfans day since Dwight's decision day.

Owner has come out and said Clowney is the BPA.

    No way.

I think it was in response to what I said about how in some ways it would be more interesting for the Texans to do something stupid with the top pick like go after Mack or Bortles in that we could have 1000 threads of people desperately trying to defend going after the OLB from Johnny Buckwheat Jr College or the QB that no one wants. If we got BOTH of them.....OMG.

Ok...but it doesn't mean they're on the tank to grab a QB next draft when they spend a first round pick on a QB this year.

and also said a QB is far more valuable than a defensive lineman in the next breath.

She used to work for the Chron tho?

And I don't like her only because she want Bortles and I don't.

If they could walk away with Detroit ' s and Atlanta ' s second round picks this year(and something in the future) that'd be just fine by me.

They could pick up 3 quality starters for the D at the top of round two. With the quality depth, that is 3 guys who might be first rounders in a weaker draft. That could be freaking huge. Or two defenders and an offensive starter, but I'd look to fill DE, NT, and whichever linebacker spot is open.

3 picks at the top of the second round in this draft could be transformative.

If we trade down twice and Johnny is still available, I dont think I could possibly be happier.

I do not want Bortles, even with a 2nd round pick.

    True, but why Bortles.

Carr, who you could get 2.1 is just as good if not better.

Clowney or trade back for Manziel. Please.
