Hmm, I don't think the true owner would misspell the name of his own bike.

    He's definitely the theif.

No, not trolling. It could be a guy who was legitimately injured I guess...

Back to the subject--if you look at other items sold at that map location in Craiglist (don't know why you wouldn't disable if they are stolen) this is the 4th bike that he's posted in the last two months + one "bedrider" which could either be used for his mountainbiking hobby or thievery. It could be an entirely different bike...

Wow, thanks for all the replys!

Depends on the pictures. I have all the purchase info, but the bike was stock, so it might not be readily apparent. If this turns out to be it, there's definitely a reward

    I'll keep you guys posted

    No need to worry, guys.

I just sent an email to that guy with the craigslist post and asked him:
"A bunch of guys on clutchfans.net are asking about the bike and we think you're a thief. Hey, is the bike you're selling a stolen one from The Heights?"

    And he said: "No."

So it's not him. He's such a nice fellow.

    damn this thread got good.

I say you contact the guy with the "work injury" and ask to check out the bike in person. if you have all the serial info on your bike and it matches just play it cool and tell him you'll be in touch. then contact the police tell them all the info and ask to press charges/get your bike back. take pics of his license plate / person if you can to give info to the Police.

edit: also find it curious that the Craigslist seller says the bike was stored in a garage. Wasn't your bike stolen from your garage?

If you do that, you have to negotiate some kind of hold on the bike to be sure he doesn't sell it to someone else while you're waiting for the cops. Maybe put a deposit down and promise to come back with the rest when you come to pick up on payday? Write a check if possible.

Looking forward to a sequel, could your situation be it?
