I'm sure we do know who we want with the first pick. We would be idiots not to let the clock run down to one second though. ATL or Dallas could panic with a last minute trade.
If we can get Clowney & Bridgewater, or Mack & Bridgewater, I think that will cure my Rockets sadness!
I'd be fine with Clowney and Bridgewater, really just so long as they don't blow the first pick I'll be alright.

At this point, every player has been sooo over scouted and written about, I can get myself to be excited about any outcome. I just want it to be over.
I suspect that's the case. They'll hold out for an RG3 type deal, but if it doesn't come, they'll just draft the best player in the class for themselves. It's win/win. Either the best player in the class or traderape.
Sorry if posted (J.R.) http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...best-final-guesses-gulp-before-picking-begins [rquoter]1. Atlanta Falcons (via trade with Texans) -- DE Jadeveon Clowney: Owner Arthur Blank can be a relentless man when he gets his mind set on something, and he wants the best defensive player in this draft. I believe the Texans end up doing this deal for a 2014 third- and fourth-round pick and a 2015 first. If the Texans stay here I still make Clowney the pick.[/rquoter] I don't know if I'd do that deal. He also has the Texans trading the #6 pick from Atlanta to Detroit. Clowney has all the hype as a once in a decade or two kind of player. Even if you get extra mid round picks and an additional 1st, the Texans have to hit on those draft picks and hope they produce. None of us are thrilled with the track record of picking after the 1st couple of rounds, so it still seems risky to me.
Also, Atlanta's first is probably going to be at the end of the first round making it a lot less valuable. For them I'd demand more
If you trade down to ATL at a minimum it needs to be swap 2014 firsts, 2015 first and 2014 second...if they do less than that i'll be surprised.

I believe the Texans end up doing this deal for a 2014 third- and fourth-round pick and a 2015 first. If the Texans stay here I still make Clowney the pick. 6. Detroit Lions (via trade with Texans) -- T Greg Robinson: They need to protect Matt Stafford, which is still an issue post free agency. Robinson has Hall of Fame potential in the eyes of some in that organization. Getting him outside of the top five is a steal, and with Buffalo also exploring a trade up and the value building, the Lions move up to grab him. And the Texans pick up a few more picks, which, after failing to get that second round pick they wanted from the Falcons, is another bonus for them. Still two quarterbacks on the board, so the Texans can afford to drop. 10. Houston Texans (via trade with Falcons, Lions) -- QB Blake Bortles: New head coach Bill O'Brien gets his guy, and gets extra draft picks to move back and do it. Manziel again is in the mix, and I'm sure ownership would love all the hoopla he brings with him, but Bortles played for one of O'Brien's mentors in college, he fits the mold of what the Texans are looking for, and the Texans know the Titans, one pick later, might take the kid if they don't do it here. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer...best-final-guesses-gulp-before-picking-begins
True, I forgot to add that to my post. So it'd essentially be the #6 pick, a 3rd (#68), a 4th (#103) and a late 1st next year. I'm not a fan of that at all.
That's why IMO it'll take 3 firsts, because 2 of them will be in the mid to late 20's in all likelihood.
Nah, that kind of draft has to get an OK from the owner. That's a Tanking draft to be honest. Just preparing for a better QB class next year since we'll have a top 3 pick again.
