Yes, Crane has said many times that he needs Rangers, Mariners, Angels money to "compete" and sign players. And no I didn't call MadMax out for not "answering" my question. I stated that his response to my post wasn't relevant to the point I made. Of course, TV money helps sign players. I just chose not to respond to rabbit hole questions like that. Crane is not going to get a big time TV deal now. He has said many times that he needs a big time deal to compete (sign players). If Mariner - Rangers - Angels revenue is what he bases his level of commitment to pay his players, then he is going to need to run his team more like the A's do.
FWIW according to CyberX there are 2 scenarios on the table. CSN-H will dissolve 100% and rights will be sold back (he says to FOX) or CSN-H will stay with deals completed with all carriers I know that seems vague, and the second one still seems far fetched to me, but since this is one of the main areas this is being discussed I wanted ot put it in here too. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=254501
Also, I get one-million dollars. I get the dissolution part...how do you get to the "deals completed with all carriers" component? That's what they've been trying to do for a while now....you can't force the other carriers into deals.
I'm in total agreement. My conclusion is the Channel Fairy is going to don her Space suit, fly up to the satellites and give everyone CSN-H access. Which is about as feasible as just saying everyone gets access because that is what someone says will happen.
On a serious note, I'm not sure what cyberx was trying to say, but if he's right, he's at least ruling out things like DTV buying it and turning it into a ROOT Sports network. It sounds like he's just saying that it's either going to get fixed in its current form or get blown up - nothing else.
I didn't take it as ruling out DirectTV buying it,re-branding the channel ,but keeping its basic form.
Ah, I didn't click the actual thread, I just read Castor's post above. Still....I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't even make guarantees to my clients..but i feel pretty confident telling you this thing will be resolved before the Rockets tip off next season. But I've said that before...
Same song, 255th verse. Just a battle in a much larger war over RSNs. Kill this mother effer already. It's enough. The bankruptcy is delaying the inevitable.
So if CSN H gets killed, how close to Mariners/Rangers/Angels money do you think the Astros wind up with?
