I know it's hard say without knowing the BPA, but assuming equal ranking players how would you draft by position priorities? 1. Clowney OLB/DE 33. RT 65. NT 101. CB/Nickel 135. QB 141. Slot Receiver/Kick Returner 177. S/CB 181. RB 211.ILB http://www.thesidelineview.com/big-board (though I get the feeling the Texans will throw us a loop and take Seferian-Jenkins at 33)
Tier one needs: Defensive front seven: upgrade everything except Cushing and JJ RT QB Tier two needs: LG TE FB DB special teams
Is Clowney and OLB? will that move Reed inside? Coach Gary Kubiak said after the last of three rookie minicamp practices that new linebacker Trevardo Williams "was exactly what we thought," according to the official team website. "Tremendous speed. He can really run." now destined to be a Baltimore Raven: Crockett Gillmore #10 TE Colorado State Rams HometownBUSHLAND, TX Height6-6 Weight255 lbs.
well from what I'm hearing they are going to put Clowney at OLB and yes that could move Reed inside but I'm not convinced he is the answer. If Cush goes down we need someone to step up at that position and i don't have any faith in Reed.
Depends on how the draft falls. This draft is too big to target positions by rounds. The Texans need help all over, it's not like they are a super bowl contender who just needs an extra piece or two.
Wouldn't throw me for a loop, my fingers have been crossed for months hoping we find a way to land Seferian-Jenkins. That would be huge.
It's looking like Clowney is the #1 but after that Texans need:- QB LG ILB DE CB NT There are others, but these are he priorities. You might have noticed a glaring omission at RT? Here's why. I have heard a rumour that Brennan Williams and David Quessenberry will compete for RT - it's a rumour now, so please don't ask for a "source". If BW wins it and turns out to be the answer there, then DQ can slide back to LG. DQ can still compete with Derek Newton for RT if Williams knee blows out. So it looks like we have a need at Left Guard. Enter Joel Bitonio. He has a mean streak which is needed on the line and can play Guard and wait for it, Left Tackle. His versatility alone makes him valuable, but factor in the potential to be our LT when Duane Brown is done in a few years after he has cut his teeth and his value skyrockets for Texans. If BW/DQ can be the solution at RT, and Bitonio is the solution at LG, the Texans ongoing oline woes could be over. Only thing is, he will have to be our pick at #33. I'm good with that. Thoughts?
If you haven't taken a QB by #65 then don't bother. A good QB hasn't been taken in the 4th or later in 14 years.
I thought I'd heard a while back that while it was a micro fracture surgery, it wasn't necessarily the same kind TMAC and Oden got. Something less severe.
A doctor's take on Brennan Williams's micro fracture surgery Remember in the NFL Brennan Williams needs to play to get paid, so he is highly motivated to get ready and play, even if his knee can't take it. BTW I do hope Brennan Williams can play a long, full career with the Texans.
I hope so too - it would help solve a problem for Texans if he is good to go. I find it interesting that Texans are looking at DQ for the RT position as well - if one of those two can do a better job than Newton, then LG would be all we need and Bitonio has to be a prime option right there.
They don't know who the starters are at NT and ILB and the previous starters are not on the team. Powe and Mohammed are not starter material yet. Those have to be the biggest needs. Followed by RT and LG (potential starters are coming off major injuries and previous starter are probably gone). Then QB (they have 3 QBs who have started games on the roster already), then slot WR.
LB's will be Cush, Reed, Mercilus ,Clowney Anyone of them can blitz at anytime. Line will be Watt, Crick, Powe or draft pick I like:
