So Clowney at 1-1 and Best qb available at 2-1?

FWIW, I heard Heath Miller say on the radio last night that he would take Watkins#1 overall. Granted, not exactly the biggest name in player evaluation, but he did say he had spent lots of time in the company of many of the projected top picks, and that he thought Watkins was closest to a sure thing.

    #1 Andre Johnson - Check
    #2 DeAndre Hopkins - Check

He's not a slot receiver, so that would mean he wouldn't be the #3 receiver either putting him behind Either Andre or DeAndre as the #4. Never said he was "garbage".

Greg Cosell said the same thing when he was on the air with Lance the other day.

Don't speak too soon, they'll find a way, it's a long standing tradition.

Hopkins wasn't even the best receiver on his own college team (Sammy was). And Sammy can play in the slot.

But you and tmac are right... Drafting Sammy is a crazy idea. We don't need an offensive game changer and playmaker. We got plenty of them. All Hail The Clowney.

I was just thinking about this earlier.

It'll be hard to cut to commercial when you have the 1st pick of every round.

On the Sammy Watkins front. I do not agree that he isn't a slot receiver. The guy can play X, Y, inside, in the backfield. You can basically line him up anywhere and he'll be a playmaker.

I don't think you can take him #1 but if we were to move down and all other top options were off the board, I would not hesitate on taking Sammy. He'll be a star in this league eventually. Despite his height disadvantages, that everyone has something to say about.

I try to save you from yourself, but you keep repeating nonsense, Sammy played second fiddle to Hopkins in college and he would in the NFL as well.

Yea and that's why Sammy is projected to get drafted in the top of the 1st round and Hopkins got drafted in the back of the 1st round. So whatever you say Bobby.

Did you just start watching college football this past season? Did you miss Nuk's 1400 yards and 18 TD's while on the same team as Sammy? Did you miss Sammy's 700 TD's and 3 TD's that year?

We've seen them on the same team before, Nuk is the top dog, Sammy is the very good #2 in that scenario

    Gotta love Clowney:

His head will be on a swivel or it'll end up on a spike.

Well it does help that Watkins missed significant time that year and Nuk took over as the number one guy due to Watkins injuries. And while I believe Hopkins can and will developed into a top 10 WR in the league, Watkins can develop into the Best WR in the league very fast. Watkins would be nice, but we have way more pressing needs than WR(we should take at least one though)

If the Texans went with Sammy Watkins #1 overall...i'd be shocked...but wouldnt be mad...I know that he would produce...Andre Johnson, Sammy Watkins, and DeAndre Hopkins would be one heck of a starting trio. Too bad they wont have anyone to get them the ball.

The Texans need talent top to bottom and there is zero question about it. I truly had nothing for those that wanted a QB or other positional player. That player must immediately impact the Texans in a positive way. I believe that player is Clowney. I truly believe that the mud he was dragged was a means of trying to obscure his real potential as a star in this league. There is zero question that when focused, he can be scary. When he is paired with a relentless force in JJ Watt, R.Crennel, and a DLine coach like Bill Kollar, he has no option but to be focused. Teams will find out that they cant ignore one for the other, and sacks become contagious. Players will work harder in order to have their own mini competition. There was once a time when our defense helped keep us in games and relentlessly pursed the QB. The chance to see something like that again gets me excited for the season. If the Texans can find a way to reclaim their pass rushing ability, they will just become so much better...

Whomever the Texans select, I hope we can move forward from the 2-14 disaster and get back at competing for the division crown...

I'd pick a wrestling intro, either Stone Cold Steve Austin's or Vince McMahon's

Yea that had nothing to do with defenses being scared as he'll of Sammy because of what he did his rookie year. Just the same every expert out there says Sammy is the best receiver prospect to come out since Julio and A.J. No one says he's the best to come out since Hopkins but you. Lol...

We'll see what happens on the field this coming season and see who does what :)
