Absolutely you do! The thing is, Buffalo can play HOU and STL against each other to see who gives them the cheaper deal if they aren't locked into one player in particular.
Once again, I have never proclaimed him to be a superstar(urgh you are quite frustrating). I think he has HOF talent. He has the ability to be special as long as upstairs is motivated. He has been clocked in the 4.3's in South Carolina, his get off the line is incredible. Are you saying that he isn't talented? Oh yeah, you want the Texans to take Sammy Watkins........
I don't think there are as many Aggies in Houston as you seem to think there are and those are the only people I could see being "angry" about passing on Manziel. Sure there is a small chance that Manziel pans out in the NFL, but I'd much rather pass on this version of Vince Young then hope that he beats the odds. The idea of Jacksonville having Clowney and the Texans having Manziel worries me a LOT more than the other way around.
Greg Robinson would make the Texans line pretty freaking good. If you can keep a QB upright up right, you can make the Matt Schaub's of the world look good. Robinson wouldn't be a bad pick if you consider him head and shoulders above Mathews/Lewan.
Texans loyalties aside, I think Clowney would do better as a DE in Buffalo's 4-3 with Mario, Dareus, and Williams than he would as a 3-4 OLB in Houston with Watt and Cushing.
I really think Manziel will be good with the right offense around him, but he is too much of a project right now. I thought about it ALOTTT!!! and as a Texan fan, you want Johnny because watching the games will be about 10x more exciting. From a team standpoint, does Carr, Bridgewater, Mettenburger, have a shot at being better QB's 5 years from now? Yes they do. That is why you pass.
It wouldn't be a bad pick, but I think it would get Smith fired. I think the expectations are that they'll get a "game changer" at #1, not a RT so even though it will be upgrading a position, I think it will be seen as a waste.
He absolutely would, but the Bills are picking 9th! They don't have the luxury of taking him unless they want to gut there next three drafts.

I think this talk coming out of the Jags camp in regards to acquiring JFF is just that...It is to make the Browns squirm by trying to move up in the draft. If this news picks up steam, i truly expect the Rams to get a call from the Browns...The Texans may also get that call, but the Browns will have to pay quite a bit. If JFF is drafted in the AFC South... our division gets to be crazy popular.

i want that, but then Texans would pick Brotles if they did that and ended up with either a top OT or Manziel i would be ecstatic tho
Hopkins isn't a slot receiver, he's the #2 and heir apparent to Andre, IMO they are talking about that Bonner kid or MAYBE Posey or Martin. Either way, that tells me that they probably won't draft a WR at all now.
One thing about Johnny that I didn't like, was that his scrambling ability was neutralized against teams with quicker ends. Teams are going to rush 4 and drop the rest in coverage.
Hell yea I want the Texans to draft Watkins, OR Robinson, OR a quarterback, OR trade the pick. I'm fine with anyone of those. But you've repeatedly said any pick other than Clowney is ludicrous. So we'll see if he's a game changing super star like you and others proclaim him to be....
So it look slike it will be Clowney-- Who do we draft in the 2nd.. Reallistically what QBs do you see there at 33 for us to take?
The one thing I don't like about Johnny is that he has absolutely awful field vision. All too often he completely missed wide open receivers because he didn't see them, or even look their way. There were numerous situations where based on the play call and the movement of the safeties pre-snap, there was going to be a receiver open and he just failed to recognize it, instead he took a half-ass attempt at making reads then scrambled. Now sometimes during that crazy scramble, he'd look down the field and make a pass, but he has a bad habit of making things more difficult than they have to be. Doing that makes it a lot more exciting looking, but it'll kill you in the NFL.
