Dude, the Texans were never going to draft Watkins. Give it up.

If the pick is Clowney he needs to step in and immediately contribute. College players nowadays come in ready to go.

Obviously it might not immediately result in wins and losses since our team has so many freaking holes but it would be a step in the right direction. That's all I (as a 6 year season ticket holder) will ask for.

Give me some excitement because last year was brutal to watch.

I said he is more talented, not better. Reading comprehension, it's your friend!

He did have a poor year. Add something new to the table for once? Or just continue with ridiculous statements to stir up the board?

    Absurdity of the draft:

These tweets from NFL.com expert Gil Brandt are from back in February, but they made the rounds on Twitter last night as the symbol of a draft process that has become a caricature of itself.

Bridgewater 9 1/4 hands. Smaller than I thought, many thought. He played w 2 gloves at Louisville. #NFLCombine

    Jimmy Garopollo's hands: 9 1/4. Over the threshold. He'll be fine. #NFLCombine

Right but context is important here. Ted was being considered as a top pick, Garapollo more of a later round choice...

That would be a ton of picks heading the Texans way.

Id say minimum 3 first, 3 seconds.

The Texans would lose out on top notch prospects that could help the team significantly this year. No way.

The Rams could pass and still have a premier OT at the 9th spot.

    Won't happen!

Johnny Manziel to the Jaguars? John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says “word is spreading” that Johnny Football could go to Jacksonville at No. 3.

can i just say ...i think McClain is intentionally spreading rumors so that the Texans will take Manziel #1. This guy has been using his station as a "journalist" to lobby the texans to go QB; he's been rabid about it, and i would not put it past him to make some crap up in an effort to push Houston to go QB #1.

I cannot stand this guy. i think he is crap and i wouldn't put it past him.

If we were to move down to say 7-10, what is the likelihood that we move back up to maybe 3-5 to nab the guy we want.

Not sure if that's been done recently at the top of the NFL draft.

I would think it would have the opposite effect. The rumors of Manziel to Jacksonville make me want the Texans to take Clowney even more so that he can help crush JFF's Frito's and Doritos.

I think if anyone wants the #1 pick, the Texans should make them spread their cheeks to get it. If you are willing to fork over an RG3 type deal.....enjoy Clowney. If not, we get him.

No defensive player is worth 3 first round picks.

So a guy who only had 3 sacks his last year of college has more talent than the highest paid defensive player in the NFL:confused: Don't get "athleticism" confused with "talent" to play a position.

Good thing is these guys will show what they can do on the field and we'll see if Clowney will be the super star you proclaim him to be.

Agreed. RG3 wasn't worth 3 first round picks either, but some team foolishly paid that anyway. At this point, if I'm the Texans, I want Clowney for myself, so if someone else wanted to trade up for him they'd have to blow me away with the offer meaning they'd have to overpay.

What if the Texans really are thinking of going OT at 1.1? If they can trade down to 9 and still get one of Robinson/Matthews/Lewan + picks, don't you do that trade?

If someone offers you three first and three seconds for a defensive player, you freaking do it! LOL

Clowney is a luxury, Manziel is a necessity. The Texans must, absolutely must, acquire a QB, so why not draft the best one available, Mr. Johnny Football?

I won't freak out if they draft Clowney, but anger will flow through Houston, like lava pouring out of a volcano, if the Texans don't reel in one of those two players.

    Decide, draft, develop, do it.

Agreed! Although, an OT pick probably gets Rick Smith fired.
