Blazers pretty much lucked out against us. They made all the fluke/lucky shots all series along with BS calls favouring them. There is no denying LMA and Lillard are good but we are obviously better. They do not have what it takes to win it all. Look how Spurs are picking them apart atm. Experience counts a lot in the playoffs and this is where teams like Spurs and Heat win games.
That's the problem though. Morey keeps thinking that all the Rockets need to do is keep acquiring stars. They already have the best center and best shooting guard(offensively at least) in the league! They have a decent small forward, two adequate guys at the 4 spot, the best backup center in the league, a pretty solid defensive point guard who's streaky but can knock down open 3's, and a 3-point sniper off the bench. That's enough to win a playoff series....if you hire a g-ddamn coach who knows what the hell he's doing! Who actually prioritizes defense. Who demands accountability from his players. Who knows how to make adjustments within a game. Who can guard an inbounds play at the end of a game. And who knows that the coach is allowed to call a timeout and not just the player with the ball. Instead Morey hired a babysitter because apparently his system is all the Rockets in order to win a championship. Never mind that it can't even get out of the first round against a team that's looking like a bunch of scrubs against the Spurs at the moment.
You're still too nice. I wish the same for them but I don't want them to be crushed in the finals. I want them to be up 3-0 in the series, then lose 4 straight games by 1 point and have the NBA announce the next day about how Lillard was fouled by Wade but didn't get the call, or how LeBron should've been called for a charge on Aldridge but the refs missed it after EVERY game. No one will understand the agony of having NBA retract calls after the fact. We should've won the series by now and possibly dominating Spurs in this first game of the second round. Instead this is going to be a joke of a series. Pop will probably rest the big 3 after half-time every game.
BTW. I voted for the Blazers to lose to Spurs because I want our team to see how we missed out on a prime opportunity because of lazy play. It's one thing if you are not good, but to lose because of malaise is inexcusable.
...get injured. I'm not sadistic, I'm just indignant that we lost to the HEALTHIEST TEAM IN NBA HISTORY. Total bull, compared to the injuries we had to deal with this year which prevented our chemistry from ever approaching theirs. Injuries in the playoffs derailing their season wouldn't make it even for what they did to us, but it would be a start. Even would be if injuries derailed their entire season next year.
Option #6, I don't care at all. But if they win I'll be more mad about our elimination since they didn't win, we lost
I want portland to get destroyed so the rockets realize they have a lot of work ahead of them. swept by spurs 4-0. need the rockets to see what a real team looks like when everyone is on the same page and have their roles set.
