Back to Football. Teddy Vs Arron Donald in 2012 another 1st rounder in this years draft. Long ball does need work but still best QB in this draft. http://youtu.be/6kkk0ZTRPDI
Always be closing. That's not really the best clip though if you want to sell people on Bridgewater. Almost the entire game he does nothing but dink and dunk BS and was 6 of 11 on the passes where he actually looked down the field with 2 of those being really great catches that sort of bailed him out. You can find better propaganda if you are looking to advance the Bridgewater agenda.
No propaganda just showing real film not bs conjecture. The competition he played against was not always Eastern Kentucky. Also he lit them up in a second half with a 75 yard TD and a few other long strikes. Plus stiff armed Donald a few times on scrambles. Plus I had never saw this one.
I was going to note that. As someone who isn't an NFL scout, I have o clue how much of the dink and dunk was Teddy's doing (coverage recognition, etc.) vs. play call. I love dink and dunk, btw. Throw to a bunch of people. Wide receiver and back screens. Get your TE's involved. All great. Just saying I can't tell what was TB there and what was basically any quarterback worth their salt. The positive I took away from the overthrows were that they were always in a position where either no one could get it or only the offensively player could. There were a couple of throws that were actually very on target, but into double coverage that were a bit more concerning. I'm a big believer in the turnover battle, so dink and dunk, no interceptions, really understand defensive coverages, with 6 of 11 on long passes seems great, if replicable. Also, if the Texans end up with him, second round or otherwise, one would hope that he could work with the coaches and current receivers to understand a little better how to place some of those long-balls. Meaning, Andre can win jump balls. Give him an opportunity in some cases.
Well he can certainly replicate the dink and dunk, but anything over 10-12 yards down the field is dicey. There is a reason a lot of people think he could project to being a less mobile Alex Smith type. Personally I think he could eventually be a decent game manager who plays very safe and protects the ball, but since his throwing abilities are pretty limited and he doesn't have very good athleticism I think a middling QB is his ceiling.
Grantland article on Bortles, Bridgewater and Manziel: http://grantland.com/features/2014-...hnny-manziel-blake-bortles-teddy-bridgewater/
Very good post. I never argued what Teddy will be in the Pros. I just don't know. I just debate how NFL teams may view him as far as where he should be drafted. I think the Texans need more than a dink and dunk quarterback though. But Walter has the Texans drafting Teddy in the 3rd. Don't know if he would fall that far but I don't think anyone could be upset if they drafted him at that spot.
This guy has no clue what he is talking about if he doesn't think Bridgewater can't make something out of nothing
If he doesn't think he can't? Isn't that the same as saying does think he can? So you are saying that he doesn't know what he's talking about if he thinks that Bridgewater can make something out of nothing? Have you turned on your deity?
The author did nothing but praise Bridgewater. What did you read? Are you talking about this quote which is associated with the Bill Walsh quote earlier in the article? "Bortles, Bridgewater, and Manziel can all play, but I’d call only one a “spontaneous genius.” Johnny Football tops my board … but maybe that says more about me than it does about him."
I agree. It will be the heist of the draft if some +.500 team snatches him up in the first round to study under the tutelage of their more established but aging starter. That is the lowest I can see Bridgewater going. Guys like Belicheck are letting guys like bigtexxx do their dirty work for them.
At this point lot of people are over thinking TB, I don't think he is a dink and dunk type QB or has extreme accuracy issues like some perceive it to be after the Pro Day. His game Tape is enough to know where he majorly lacks at accuracy. To me his low ceiling is a really good game manager and high can be a top 5 -10 qb in the league just due to his ability to control LOS, decision making, and reading defense. Those qualities are really important at evaluating QB and sometimes can't really be taught. You can't teach football smart and ultimately he is a prospect that i feel confident that if O'Brien gets a hands on him can improve his mechanics. From all the QB prospects, he is the closest to NFL ready and that says a lot about this year QB class. I will bet my chips on him being a good game manger and i think i'm totally fine with that because Texans can have a shot at SB with him or any other game manger as long as they build a really good defense. That's what i really want instead of reaching for a QB. Just play it smart or you will out smart yourself and dig a big hole for next few years by reaching.
Over half of the starting quarterbacks in the NFL are garbage. Case and point _ the Raiders traded for Schaub and the Texans brought in Fitzpatrick. Rodgers was not NFL ready when Green Bay drafted him. Neither was Steve McNair, Big Ben, etc. It took Brees over 4 years to get his stuff together. Eli and Rivers sat on the bench when they 1st got drafted. The list goes on. My point is if you worry about these young quarterbacks being NFL ready and or day one starters _ you will most likely end up with quarterbacks like Schaub and Fitzpatrick. It's O'Brien's job to get these guys NFL ready and if he can't _ why is he here...???
lol Ted is doing it all himself. Lousy combine showing, shaky pro day, low Wonderlic score... I'm not the one that's caused him to fall out of the first round on almost every mock draft you see... You just like to use me as a convenient crutch because you can't argue based on fact, logic and reason.
