Harden's play isn't purely one on one when he's on. He needs to get going early, that way defenses double him or near double him. Then, after he gets going his teammates can get involved on the kickout or dropoff down low.

    Not true.

PG/SG - You would have Beverly and Daniels as your first 2 guards off the bench, plus Cannan who may or may not turn out to be a serviceable PG off the bench.

SF/wing - your a little thin here but you have Garcia, Casspi, and Covington, who again may or may not turn out to be anything. Plus you can always go small with 3 guards and Harden playing the 3. Plus if you get The Raptors to agree to a S&T for Lowry you still have your MLE money for a FA wing.

PF/C - You probably lose Jones in one of those trades so that would only leave D-Mo as you big off the bench. But hey, a lot of old timers sign for the league min to play on a good team. Why not a backup big?

Glad to hear. That's much better than bringing in a turrrible free agent.

Daniels can't defend as SG. I can see him alongside with Harden at the PG spot.

You seriously expect Casspi and Garcia as main backup SF?

DMo is PF AND C backup?

I agree that Asik in the starting lineup doesn't match up with a lot of teams, and the positives outweigh the negatives. Certain teams (POR, for example), it can work pretty well.

Let me recap the attributes you're deeming as requisite from a starting PF for the Rockets:
    • Big
    • Tall
    • Athletic
    • Shoot from anywhere on the floor
    • Can bang down low with the likes of ZBo and David West
    • More "mobile" than Asik
    • Explosive dunker
    • Can handle the ball
    Got it.

Who exactly did you have in mind?

I have huge hopes for Covington. I think next year he can show he can be a good back up SF. He has a three point stoke and is long and quick enough to be a good defender. I mean, at this point the fat white guy picked last in a LA Fitness basketball game is better than Casspi and Garcia.

I want a defensive minded back up 2 guard; Thabo? And a good back up PF that can start games if need be; Pau Gasol for cheap, Spencer Hawes, Josh McRoberts, even Kris Humprhies.

Can you imagine if they swing deals for both Melo and Rondo and keep a depleted bench?

We will promote our DLeaguers to fill those spots.

I actually like the Viper coach too--Nevada Smith. Might as well ask him to stand in for McHale in the huddle.

My remaining issue with McHale returning is--can he just shut up in the huddle? If he's just going to be the figurehead, and the main asst is really the one coaching, tell him to stay as far away from the team during games.

I think we're the only team ever that would have such a strange set-up at head coach position.

Via time machine, we should be able to sign a young Sabonis before anyone really knew who he was. Then we just need a fake ID for him: Now! At power forward, for your Houston Rockets! ... Ardvarkis Shoehornus.

I get what you are saying, but poor examples. Grizz lost first round and the Pacers have been **** this postseason.
