It's not that, he's just part of the cult of Teddy. He's upset that Bridgewater is probably falling to the late first round or even into the second and he wants to take it out on the other QB prospects who are valued more than his guy is.
I used to think you were ridiculous for calling Bridgewater a 2nd rounder. Turns out you were correct as at earliest he will be going late first. You have my respect! Remi on the other hand. LOL just no.
It is if O'Brien wants to utilize a slot receiver like he did with Wes Welker up in New England. Plus Dre is "OLD." Can't depend on him to play like he has been forever. OLB isn't a need because we have a 1st round and 2nd round pick at those positions. The Texans defense is weak on the D-line, weak up the middle, and a trash secondary... Drafting Clowney isn't going to help that. And Jeremiah Attaochu is arguably better for the Texans than both Clowney and Mack. He played in a 3-4 defense for 3 years, a 4-3 defense for 1 year, he can drop back in coverage and run with tight ends and RB's, and he also played inside linebacker as well. And the kid just started playing football in high school (he hasn't even scratched the surface of his ability). You and Bobby are sleeping thinking Clowney is the best defensive player in this draft... Don't get your Clowney PJ's dirty.
I told you about Teddy way before Bobby showed up... I also told you Jimmy G would move up as well. It's all in print in the old Teddy thread buddy. But that's cool your respect is not needed

LOL The biggest need the Texans have is LB/QB Clowney fills one of those needs. WR will be an issue in 4 years. The Texans will give Hopkins a chance to replace Andre and they already have a talented Devier Posey who will mold in to that 2nd or 3rd wideout spot. They won't take a WR with that pick. Ludicrous.
In fairness, at one point I thought he was the best QB prospect in the class just like everyone else assumed he was before we all looked into him more closely and even then I didn't think he was a second round pick, I was thinking more like middle of the first. The fact that he could fall to the 2nd came as a surprise to me. Yeah, I think Hopkins gets that chance, his first year in the league he put up over 800 yards and was the 2nd most sure-handed WR in the league behind Larry Fitzgerald. Watkins is a really nice prospect, but he played second fiddle to Hopkins in college and IMO he would in the NFL as well, not to mention that there is a future HOF WR still on the roster firmly entrenched in the #1 WR spot.
Something I don't think is a coincidence is that guys who were "all in" on a different prospect like Manziel or Bridgewater seem to be driving the Mack bandwagon once their favorite prospect fails them. Take today for example, Lance Z sees Manziel embarrass himself on all 22 film showing that his field vision is just terrible and then comes out in support of Mack.....from what I've seen, pretty much all of the people who spent most of the pre-draft process arguing against Clowney in favor of another prospect have come out in support of Mack once their guy falls off....I don't think that's a coincidence. They aren't picking RG3 over Luck, they aren't picking Mack over Clowney.
Brooks Reed is a bust and Mercilus is still unproven. Watkins has the talent, but it's not a for sure thing he is the next big thing.
If this is the logic, then we don't need a WR either since we've spent a 1st round, 3rd round, 4th round, and 6th round pic at that position from the last 2 drafts alone.
Yep -- it's psychology 101. They don't want to be seen as being inconsistent. They don't want to align with Clowney since they lost the battle of trying to argue Bridgewater or Manziel over him. So they pick somebody else.
Yeah arguing that Brooks Reed and Whitney Mercilus as a reason to not draft the best player in the draft would be like arguing that having Fitz and Keenum would be a reason to not draft Andrew Luck if the Texans had the chance.
Do you know why JJ Watt had only 10 sacks? He was getting doubled by the RT/RG! Guess who was handling Brooks Reed? A TE/RB one on one. Brooks can stop the run.... But he's not a playmaker when he is blocked by any individual on the football field. Peter King picked him as DPOY 2 years ago! Hahahaha
You're right. Drafting Watkins is a ludicrous idea when our receiving core is so great with all the TD's they score and all the yards after the catch they get... Plus the offense doesn't need any speed anyway and Dre will last forever. Clowney can walk on water and you're (and many others) are sure he's the next big thing. I'm sure they will be able to build a defense that can stop Luck just like they did with Manning... Even though Luck beat the breaks off of Seattle's and San Francisco's defense.
ESPN and NFL nation running a live mock draft today with each blogger selecting for the team they cover. The Texans traded the #1 overall pick to the Bills for their 2014 1st round pick (#9), their 2014 2nd, 2015 1st and 3rd, and 2016 2nd. The Texans later traded up from 9 to 8 to select Blake Bortles. Thoughts?
