It looks like I will be in downtown Houston for a few days next week. I haven't lived in H-town for over 20 years, so I need some recommendations on where to to eat. Thanks in advance.
Lunch- Phoenicia, Niko Niko's, Bombay Pizza, Barnaby's, Hubcap Grill Dinner- Hearsay, Goro and Gun, Reef, MKT bar in Phoenicia
Hearsay has a cool atmosphere and good drinks. Also in market square is bar bays and taco fusion Goro and Gun Huynh is in EaDo Reef, Les givrals, brennans, etc in midtown.
Brooklyn Meatball in the tunnels. Hubcap Grill is a must, make sure you bring cash. Treebeards is always solid. Batanga some good Spanish food. Macondo has good Latin variety. Phoenicia is great, I met Omer and DMo there last year. Doozo is awesome in the Houston Center. Bangkok Cafe is some solid Thai food. Not the best in town but its decent. I always loved going to Bombaii Pizza.
i'd definitely hit up phoenicia, goro and gun, irma's and bombay pizza co. fusion taco is decent if you want something cheap and easy. hearsay is real cool but kinda on the pricey side. never been to the original hubcap but supposedly it's one of the best burgers in the city. el big bad and the grove have real nice patios and batanga may have the nicest patio in all of houston with decent tapas to boot. vic and anthony's if you're looking to blow it out on a great steak and expensive wine. and do yourself a huge favor and go grab a margarita at the pastry war on main street... i'm not even a huge marg fan but good god those things are amazing.

Hearsay is good Pass and Provisions is awesome Really just depends on how much money you want to spend on food.
15 posts and every decent place downtown was named. Couldn't even make 13 posts before venturing into Montrose.
