If a third star wants to come here, Morey will make it happen. I don't think we are going to clear out our roster unless a significant piece is going to be signed.

Personally, I want us to fill out our roster. Primarily make moves that get rid of or limit Casspi and Garcia's minutes, and get a solid back up 4. I hope Daniels, and Covington can grow to be answers to the first issue and maybe D-Mo will finally get used to the NBA game style. But I definitely want a good back up 4 and shooters.

Figured this would be a good place to practice some jersey swappin'...

(This isn't an endorsement for Rondo, just figured some of you might get a kick out of it).

If it;s Lebron James, Durant or Love then star, if it's Melo, i'd rather Lowry and see if we could pry Millsap for the same money.

3rd star (ALPHA star) is a must. DH and JD aren't the alpha star each of those teams are looking for. They are not in the mold of MJ, KB, Shaq, TD, KD or LBJ. They are best left as the Robins for one Batman. I hope I'm wrong but it's what I see from their performance.

    Both

I really feel like the Rockets need to round out the roster with a solid 5 and clutch bench players.

The one deal I feel needs to be made is this

Asik/Parsons/Lin for Milsap/Korver and a pick swap in this years first round.

With the 14th pick we either take Adrian Payne from Michigan State or Shabazz Napier from UConn both are 4th year guys who can make an impact next year

Everyone will say this and that about Parsons but his defense is really over rated Korver running around screens on Offense will be just as effective as Parsons D.

    Sign-Thabo from OKC

His 3 Pt shot and ability to stretch the floor will do wonders for our offense.

    Howard
    Milsap/Tjones
    Korver/Thabo
    Harden
    Bev/Napier

    Kevin Love.

Rocket weaknesses: 3 point shooting %, FT shooting %, defensive rebounding, and ball movement

Kevin Love strengths: 3 point shooting %, FT shooting %, defensive rebounding, and ball movement.

It is much easier to find a traditional PG or wing defender. Kevin Love's are rare.

Is there any way to add Love while keeping Parsons, Harden, and Howard together?

Wouldn't be a noticeable improvement without someone like Lowry or Rondo coming with Milsap and a upgraded bench.

If you only add milsap and a better bench, we'l probably turn into a perennial second round exit team, WCF with luck/at best. We still wouldn't be better then OKC/Clippers.

Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka and Paul/Griffin/Jordan kill or at very worst match up with Harden/Howard/Parsons. Not to mention their coaches and and benches/complimentary players are MUCH better then ours. If we want to really get ahead in the west, we will have to make some big acquisitions and changes.

I think Lowry and millsap would he better options than Carmelo or love. Also we need to get the matrix.

    Lowry/Bev
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Marion
    Millsap/jones
    Dwight/DMo

    Would be interesting.

Also can we stop with the Dirk nonsense. Guy is never coming here. Cuban wouldn't let that happen.

harden, parsons, and love will simply not work for defensive reasons. that's 3 holes on defense.

only way it works is if you get a wing like deng and let go of parsons. there would only be 2 holes on defense with this line up.

    for the OP:
i wouldn't want love or melo. seems like you'd have to give up too much. i don't see melo leaving 30 mil on the table. so its probably gonna be a SnT.

id rather see role players get filled out with pretty good guys. watch any playoff run. stars can't do it all, and you need reliable role players with experience to make big players. although lowry and rondo both make sense because the rockets wouldn't have to give up too much.

having a vet like paul pierce or vince carter would be great too.

I like the idea of this thread, but it all depends on WHAT third star we're talking about.
