The hobbit 2. Way better than the first one. That tauriel lady was awesome and the barrel thing was cool.
Red Dawn (remake) - This movie wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Certainly some cheesy moments like the original, but I made it through without turning it off.
300 Rise of an Empire - 6/10 I'm rating this in relations to the first one. Would give it less if it wasn't for Eva Green's tiddies. No epic feel to it at all, unlike the first.
Transcendence - 7/10 I really enjoyed it. I like the idea that you can upload someone into a computer. Spoiler Loved everything, except: - The whole nano technology, create matter from nothing. It seemed a little ridiculous. - With the ability to play God, how can Depp not use satellite technology to pin point where the "good guys" are? Before RIFT got to the hole, I'm sure they had to travel by car and Depp should have seen them. - How did the gov't/FBI not pick up on huge purchases in building the whole underground facility and hundreds of solar panels, which is very expensive individually. - Since Depp already know they were planning on planting a virus in his system and knows exactly what type of virus... how come he can't make an antivirus specifically for that? I mean, dude did a massive breakthrough in nano technology, but can't create a Kaspersky on steroids? - The actress playing Depp's wife is annoying. She was annoying in Iron Man 3 and annoying in this one. Glad I don't recall her from any other movies. But those are mostly technical details. I enjoyed the "aww shiz, dude was the good guy all along!" twist at the end when Depp and the annoying wife decided to pull a The Notebook death. is all, kthxbai!
Juice 8/10 This is a throwback, I had never seen it before and man did Tupac play a great part! Not only did the story entice me but it also surprised me with some of the visuals and the camera work It is not your average "gangsta movie" it's definitely worth the watch just to see Samuel L Jackson and Queen Latifah back in the day.
Ender's Game I had read the book a while ago so I knew the story. It was pretty good for a $1 rental. 6/10
"Heaven Is For Real" Still undecided with what score I should give it. Feel kind of guilty for thinking MILF at kelly reilly all the way through the film. Ok, you ready?view, hold, view, hold. an 5.7/ 10. It held my attention all the way through.
Movie 43 My girlfriend and I were surfing Netflix and we decided to see how far we could make it through supposedly one of the worst movies ever. It's hilarious. I don't understand the hate at all. I was expecting lazy how-offensive-can-we-get bits, but almost everything worked.
Just saw the new Jim Jarmusch film, Only Lovers Left Alive. It's about a couple of vampire with major ennui. Set in Detroit and Morocco. 8.5/10. For me, this is his greatest work by a longshot. Real eye and ear candy for two hours, and lots of good humor, good thinking.
Oculus - 8/10 Not sure there are many horror fans on here, but this one was really surprising and really fun. Probably the most original horror movie I've seen since Cabin in the Woods. Really enjoyed it when I didn't expect to.
Fruitvale Station - 7 out f 10. Solid telling of a true story about a killing at a BART station. 12 Years a Slave - 8 out of 10. Difficult watch at times.
