i think writing cat was not done at the behest of jamie and cersei. That was littlefinger doin littlefinger things, but the poisoning was at their behest. They even talk about it in the first episode.

I think the showrunners knew that they had a pair of uneventful episodes, so the brief mutineers arc was manufactured largely for that purpose. To not only add a little action, but to do something with Bran and co. because they have been otherwise terribly dull.

The political maneuvering is the core of the show, but you have to have a balance between that and eventful sequences. That's what this show usually does so well. Now a few episodes like this don't bother me at all, I just don't want this show to descend into Walking Dead/Boardwalk Empire territory where it's a bunch of talking and not much actually happening in most episodes.

Hodor snapping lockes spnial cord through his shoulder was...grusome. the swod through the motuh scene was even more gruesome.

I love the political maneuvering, but honestly I didn't feel like this show had all that much in terms of interesting scenes. Outside of Littlefinger and Lysa, the rest seemed...odd to me. Cersei's scenes didn't seem like the same character was in them at all.

Bad episode. Agree with everyone else. Some interesting things, sure, but nothing really really exciting.

Well I think Cersei's actions made sense because I think she understands that certain things are going to happen regardless of whether she wants them to or not so she's just come to terms with her lot, at least IMO.

They were trying to present it as Cersei manipulating the judges in her 3 scenes with Margeary, Tywin and Oberyn, they just weren't done all that well. The show was trying to suggest that she was just putting on a front to get what she wanted from Tyrion's trial, but it came across as Cersei acting out of character. It's hard to manipulate someone when what you are offering them is something they were going to get anyway. Margeary and Olena had already discussed Tommen, and since the Lannisters still had the desire to ally with the Tyrells, marriage to Tommen was the most obvious solution whether Cersei wanted it or not. Likewise with her own marriage to Loras, Tywin already said it was happening whether she wanted it or not.

It might have worked better to have Cersei talk with Margeary's father since he is the one she is trying to win over.

i read somewhere else in the books theres not much to khaleesi's character...so the buildup i understood...hoping it means an epic battle between kings landing and her army...but now she just decided to stop and rule what she has already conquered?

please tell me thats not the end of her story.

also glad someone brought up Jon Arryn again...completely forgot about his character all together...so many characters story lines...on top of only being in the first episode...slipped my mind.

The fact that Baelish orchestrated the killing of Jon Arryn is probably the biggest bombshell of the entire series. Don't get how that makes a bad episode.

I don't think there's such thing as a bad game of thrones episode. A lot of interesting things happened here.

I'm really growing tired of Dany. Her, and her corny "bad ass" lines really irk me. Her demeanor never changes, no matter the situation.

This is her shtick is this:

    Turn her back to Jorah.
    Look off into the distance.
Make sure not to make eye contact with camera.
    Deliver line.
    Pause for suspense.
Turn around and look at Jorah.
Calmly deliver line with inflections on certain syllables.

I wish we could just go one episode without her in it.

I find the series ruined her character the most. She is boring, uninteresting and does not radiate any strength in her character.

In comparison to Sansa; I disliked her in the books and I like her even less (her character) in the show.

Prince Oberyn and Queen of Thrones have really shined.
