I wouldn't even read the google news feed. Bloggers are way too trigger happy to fire off a writeup for people to read on monday...
Wow I didn't know it was Littlefinger who persuaded Lysa to poison Jon Arryn,I assumed Tyrion has solved it when he blamed Pycelle for not stopping the poison. Almost amazing how, when Littlefinger needs somebody gone, he outright kills them (Joffrey, Arryn, betrayed Ned). And it was great to see that Lysa and her son are both kind of insane. Wonder what's going to happen to Sansa afterwards. That boy lord Robin won't shut up about the fact that she's a Stark. GoT filler episodes are all about moving the chess pieces here and there. I think people don't quite like this episode because a lot of the important points were dialogue. The revelation of who killed Arryn, the fact that the Lannisters have produced no gold for the last 3 years, borrowing huge amounts (shame they aren't too big to fail). And isn't it a bit odd to see Cersei making good with Margarey? Thought she always saw the latter as an enemy. It was good to see the Hound basically teach her more life lessons. glad to see the promo for the next episodes finally Spoiler deal with Yara saving Theon, and the beginning of the trial. Stannis looks funny sitting on the other side of a desk, like he's a naughty schoolboy brought in for punishment.
This really wasn't a good episode, first subpar episode of the season IMO. The way they worked themselves out of the Jon/Bran meeting really felt like a cop out. Some plot advancement, but by this shows lofty standards it felt like filler. I know how strong this season's gonna finish up, so I ain't' even mad
Can any of you brehs make your women scream like that? Mayor Little Finger has that Magicstick. no homo.
Spoiler I believe Lyssa did it at the behest of Littlefinger who did it at the behest of Cersei and Jamie.
Little Finger is one of the most cunning and devious characters I think his movements and plans are lost in the show. I always go back to his scene with Varys. Another Master planner that has been set aside for a while They are not ACTION guys but they are very interesting to watch how they move the peices on the board . .. while seemingly having no power Rocket River
Varys is a really good character. Not sure why the show has moved away from him so much. Littlefinger wants power, Varys seemingly doesn't. That scene where they were at the throne and Littlefinger talked about seeing himself there and how everyone does was great.
Love any scene with Varys and Littlefinger. That same scene where LF talks about creating chaos and thriving in it is one of my all time favorite GOT moments.
Surprised everyone thought it was a subpar episode, I thought the reveals were great especially Littlefinger being the mastermind behind everything from the start, some of the stuff from season 1 makes a lot more sense especially his betrayal of poor Neddy...
i think people have forgotten what the show was about, it's the game of thrones not the game of surprise killings and action
Varys wants something .. . but it has not been revealed [not hinting . . .i really don't know] Little Finger has gone from a minor noble in a crappy part of Westeros to the head of HarringHall and The Aery in only a few years. He is a beast at the political game Both Lannisters and Tyrells think him a good soldier on their side He has made no true enemies [well they don't know they are enemies] He keeps trying to explain things to Sansa but I don't think she bright enough to get it Rocket River
This and this... Thought it was the best episode of the season thus far, not action-wise but there were lots of revelations that were surprising. Really moved the show forward and gave depth.
Not only that, but it's clear that he has no real love for that hideous chick in the Aerie. I wonder though, is that little weird kid his child, or the child of her poisoned husband? Either way, it seems pretty clear that Baelish wants to marry Sansa, so I will not be surprised if his new bride wakes up dead pretty soon, most likely of... poison!!
Not to reveal anything (there's a spoilers thread), but: 1) The little weird son of Lysa is Jon Arryn's son, not Littlefinger's. 2) Don't worry about Varys' disappearance from the show, that'll be fixed soon enough. I am a little surprised that more than a few of you thought it was a weak episode. It was low on action but not on events. I was a little disappointed that Jon and Bran didn't get to hang out, but I understand the logic, and as a departure from the books it might have been too much. One day (I believe) the Stark clan will have some kind of reunion. Whatever's left of them, anyway. I am glad to close the chapter on Craster's Keep. I understand how some plot points hinge on that place, and putting Bran there gives him something to do besides wander around and bore us until, well, spoilers aside, his story (from the book) gets more interesting. But there were times these last three seasons where I'm like, "This place again?" Although last week's White Walker scene made me go, "Aha. That's why I was sitting through these Craster scenes."
Yeah, that's what I meant originally. There was nothing that said he did it for Jamie and Cersei though. But it certainly makes sense.
If he did it on Jamie and Cersei's behalf he wouldn't have told Lysa to write Cat and blame the Lannisters. Or told her to write Cat at all, since poison wasn't really suspected as a possible cause of his death initially.
