Clowney, Manziel, Bortles, nor Bridgewater will be a Texan unless we trade back up for one of those QBs. Their player will be Mack. I feel like he could be one of the best players and fits for this team. I would love if we got a chance to acquire him.
I'd be perfectly fine with landing Mack with or without extra picks. Of course I would love to have the extra picks if possible.
Show me how his stats are remotely comparable to Manziel's. In 4 years, Wuerffel had 10,875 yards passing and NEGATIVE 375 yards rushing. In 2 years, Manziel had 7,806 yards passing and gained 2,162 yards rushing. Manziel would have surpassed Wuerffel's four year passing yards in three years and the rushing totals speak for themselves. Nice try, junior.
That is one area where Mack is clearly superior to Clowney and Barr. Mack would be a Will backer in a 4-3, while Clowney and Barr would move to DE. From what I saw, Mack is very polished at the "traditional linebacker" things.
Mack is a better fit for the Texans than Clowney. If Mack is the player the Texans want, then they should trade down and get another pick or two.
But trade with who? Take it for what it's worth, which may not be much, but the general consensus is that if we take Clowney, Mack is going to Jacksonville at #3. Trade down farther than that and you might not get him. Trade with Jacksonville and they might take him at #1. Would St. Louis even be willing to trade up one spot? It's easy to say that they should trade down if they prefer Mack, but your options may be very limited, and you still have to find a willing trade partner among those few choices. Trading down is fine if there are several players you're interested in and are fine with any of them, and of course you're getting a nice haul of extra picks as well. But if there's one specific player that you want who's pretty much guaranteed to go in the top 3-5 picks, it's awfully risky to try to trade down with the hopes of still getting that player.
i would be happy trading down to 3 or 4 overall and gaining a 2nd and a 4th round picks, while still managing to get Mack.
http://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/24qzov/prospect_discussion_teddy_bridgewater_qb/ch9ti0k Thought this post was incredibly interesting.
It is interesting, but then in the comments he says that he fully expects for Carr to be the first QB taken, going to the Browns at #4. So . . . .
I loved how he had no video evidence to corroborate what he is saying. Bridgewater has no anticipation????? Bridgewater has no pocket presence?????? 3 level reads?????? I played a good deal of ball back in the day and I know what pocket presence, anticipation and full field reads look like. This guy is out of his mind Then again, he claims to be a interning for team yet posts no video evidence to prove what he was talking about
Well, his views of Teddy's tape is his opinion. I'm not knowledgeable enough in this stuff to say he's right or wrong. But this quote is pretty eye-popping. So the question becomes, was ESPN the first source to prop up and continuously prop up Bridgewater throughout last offseason? If so, then you do have to wonder about his high stock among the media. But this may simply be a coincidence. Bridgewater is quite good as as a college QB and Louisville was a very good team.
