Nine, there is still room for improvement.

I can't believe a lot of people voted one.

I guess it's a wrong time to make such a poll.

The wound is still too early for others.

So they couldn't make a rational decision.

He's a 5, fans that rate him as a 9 have pretty low expectations, especially now that Mchale is coming back. Might as well call us the Houston Moreys.

I voted a 9 because I can see how other GM's attempt to rebuild.

Carl, I think you've made your point now in about 17 threads that you have a problem with Morey. Even the slowest members of the board, like me, can see it now.

Voted nine, somewhere between eight and nine. The way he's managed the cap, found diamonds in the rough, turned over the roster when Yao and Tracy's careers were cut short and landed two stars are my reasons.

To give him a ten, we are going to have to win it all.

There's no guess to it. It's a ridiculous time to have such a poll.

    I absolutely can`t understand the 1 votes...

Take a look 2 years back. This was a team without a future. A bunch of older players that were good but not good enough and no high draft picks.

Morey got out and got Asik and Lin - both with a prett smart GM move (poison pill). Lin for potential and media attention and Asik because of skill. At least the Asik signing turned out great.

Then he miraculously got Harden. Perhaps one of the best GM moves in the history of the NBA - both with the setup and the execution. That put Houston back up on the map and gave us a future.

Then he got that marquee FA signing in D12 - probably the biggest FA acquisition since LeBron.

Of course Morey doesn`t always hit. He´s had several bad moves - but those all were high risk high reward moves, that were needed, since we didn`t have any stars. But he has proven that he can find bargain role players, he has proven that he can draft great players low in the draft, he has proven that he can trade for a star and he has proven that he can sign a star in FA. He has proven more than maybe any other GM in the league. And he has proven, that he can find quality players abroad.

And if you criticize him for the past season - it was obvious that he couldn`t finish this roster in the same year, in which he signed D12. He didn`t have the MLE and so no real chance to get another impact player.

So, what can you seriously criticize? What could any other GM have done better. How should we have possibly had a better team now after where we stood 2 seasons ago? I really don`t get it.

loooooool at all the morey haters.

this is ridiculous. this is the FIRST season with 2 legit super stars....we will get better...this is NOT the finished product.

look at the big picture...did this post season hurt...yes...but we're still contenders for the next 6 years, and our roster will only get BETTER...i'd agree with the morey haters if this season marked the END of a championship window.

The reason he's a 7 is because he's over stepping his bounds. Get a good coach and help him, don't get a **** coach to run your system. We aren't trying to reinvent the wheel here Morey.

Please elaborate: what could Morey have done better (outside of firing McHale)?

    Are you serious??1?!1/1?

he could have, well, signed an excellent bench with imaginary money. He could have traded for Lerbon. He could have rebuilt Yao bionically. And then he could have made sure there were no point guards on the roster aside from Lin. That's just for starters. ;)

Oh, and he should have kept P. Patterson, right, CarlHerrera? Patterson is about to put his stamp on the playoffs in a game 7, and we'll be weeping since he was the missing piece of our championship puzzle this year.

Morey works for Les Alexander. Les wanted Kevin back. Simple.

    Changes your vote ?

Median score appears to be 6.5, despite all the 1's.

If he extends McHale, all it will prove is how power hungry and out of touch he is. Sacrifice team success so that he can have a puppet on the court.
