The while reason he got the nod over budinger in the first place was tht he actually played good defense, now he just either doesn't give a crap, can't exert as much cause of his expanded offensive role or mchale has gone full mchale
He wont go anywhere as far as we wont get the 3rd star in a big trade. And also Morey will do his best to get the third star without sacrificing him. So I think he will be here for the near future.
Going by stats he is a worse defender than Lin,so no Way. And comparing him to Horry is an insult to Robert,You Never watched Horry if you think Parsons can be as good as him.
if he can learn how to be consistent and improve his 3pt shot yes otherwise morey will move him im sure of it
he isn't a pure shooter and can't play defense.. his all around offensive game is great, and he is a smart player with a lot of tools. but this team's deficiencies are defense and pure shooting. so I think replacing him with more defense and pure shooting, even at a loss of open floor ball handling and ability to finish at the rim would be a net positive for this team. his defense has fallen off because he is expending a lot more energy on offense.. his rookie year his defense was what got him on the floor. since he secured the spot hes been focusing on offense. He just isn't the two way player we need.
Agree. Great glue guy, and cheap-- probably cheaper than we'd thought he'd be. A cheap upgrade at the PG position would be Shaun Livingston.
Whose our first? o.o; 1) D12 2) Beard Or 1) Beard 2) D12 Or 1) Lin 2) Lin Those are the only choices and I don't see Parsons anywhere near them.
I would rather have a player like Affallo to take his spot,he may be listed as a SG,but he is a great defender and strong enough to play SF IMO,he would be a better glue guy.
Longterm answer at SF????..... well that all depends. If the Rockets were to acquire lets say Kevin Durant, than no obvious Durant becomes the long term SF. However, Parsons is not in any way expendable. He's an extremely important player for what the Rockets do both on and off the court. I'd be willing to bet that there were probably more than a few times this year that if Parsons wasn't around, there would have been massive blowouts between teammates. On the court, if only the guy could get a little better defensively, stronger, and gets much better at rebounding than it allows the Rockets to go with him at the 4 anytime they need to and really opens up the Rockets offense even more. At the same token, if Terrence Jones is able to get better at his decision making, and dramatically improves his shooting, he can be that similar player that the Rockets need. Parsons now does a lot of the same things that Lamar Odom did for the Lakers for years, and possibly more offensively.... without being a head case. So, in short, Yes he's the answer for the Rockets but not necessarily as a starting SF if they are to upgrade. In that case he's still going to have a valuable role somewhere else on the roster.
