here is a run down of the rockets since they got harden. blown double digit leads sticky ball iso harden/post up dwight. huge defensive lapses (taking quarters off) delfino playing the 4, harden guarding bigs. not playing hard enough i raise my goblet to my fellow brethren. a toast to more of the same.
The final play of game 6 says it all. It wreaked of incompetence and should of showed morey that the rockets will not get anywhere with mcfail.
He did well with homegrown talent, honestly... look at their roster... look what they've done with it... McHale can't do well with acquired superstar players... It's a crazy world we live in...

I've learnt you can't really trust "sources". For all we know Daryl Morey might have hated the idea, but Lez wanted him back. Who knows! Reality is there is no other options out there right now anyway. Who would you replace him with? Phil Jackson's Master plan to save the Knicks is beginning with Steve Kerr. Mr kerr the best option available right now. That's awful. I still think we should be able to trade coaches in player deals.

I am simply amazed at how dim some of our fans are. Before the season started, stats predicted we would win 55ish games. Most of our fans predicted a 55 win season. We finished with 54 wins, which was tied for the 4th best record in the west. The rockets went up against the team with the same record as them, and lost in game 6 on a buzzer beater. The series could have easily been flipped if the league didn't make two calls they admitted were wrong. What exactly is everyone blaming McHale for? He essentially accomplished exactly what we all thought this team would do. McHale isn't the problem.
I can't believe so many fans expected him to be fired. I can understand wanting him to be fired but I never expected it. Morey made that clear by mocking faux fans in the playoffs who were asking for him to be replaced. I assume half of the votes disagreeing with the decision are from Lin fans. I don't think he's a great coach but the decision has always been in the hands of Harden and Howard. What other coaches are available? I doubt most ideal coaching options people have mentioned would come out of retirement to coach the Rockets.
failure in the 4th quarter and especially the last 2 minutes of the games is on Mchale. He doesn't have control of the team, no defensive schemes, no offensive play sets we can run in the last 2 minutes. We pretty much only do ISO which allow Portland to come back in pretty much all the games we had leads in.
the regular season doesn't matter for this team. it's just killing time til the post season. 4-8 post season record. no 2nd round appearance. ok the first one is fine. 2-4 against a better team that was a 1 seed. you add dwight howard and come out with the same results. rockets were almost down 3-0...
Gotta love the Lin fan presence in this thread. They will stop at nothing until McHale is fired.Once McHale is fired they will stop at nothing until Jeremy Lin succeeds. Once it is obvious he will not succeed it will be too late to blame the coaches. Oh well, there is always racial bias.
We had no problem with McHale helping Rockets win 54 games and get in the playoff, but we had a problem with him not getting past damn 1st round with our two freaking superstars. He did not met the expectation what we thought Rockets should have accomplished, getting to WCF. That did not happen this year. The reason most people wants to fire McHale is because of his atrocious turnover and iso offense and no defense. I can't stand to watch another year of McFail but here we go.

Oh, so the fact that harden played terrible for 4 out of the 6 games and TJones couldn't guard for squat is on McHale. Also, the bad calls in games 1 and 4 were McHales fault too. And hardens ISOs are his fault as well, even though he constantly said ball stickiness was a huge problem after almost every game. I can't help you. You're only thinking one step at a time, not realizing the culmination of events that led to certain decisions.
WCF was NOT the expectation of this team. Maybe it was the fans hope, but it was never the expectation. Morey never even said 2nd round...he said HCA, essentially from the beginning of the season. McHale hit the benchmarks Morey set for him. Blame Morey if you want to for not giving him a team that could win more now. I don't....I want Kevin Love.
Not that slanted. McHale only has a whopping 163 votes even if yo take out the LOFs most if the fans want him out. If that doesn't convince you just read the threads
