I'm shocked to say that I am part of the minority. I see a lot of Rudy T in McHale only Rudy had MUCH better teams. Not saying McHale is on Rudy's level but I think McHale communicates with players in the same way and is loved by the players the same that Rudy was. That being said, we are in desperate need of a Defensive coordinator with Sampson out. Need to find the best or steal the best. Pay Thibodeau crazy money if he gets let go and make him a Dual Coach with McHale.
Doc Rivers is quitting after the season. Let's wait and see what the legal ramifications are of that and if he becomes available
Rudy T was great with Hakeem as his anchor.. Rudy T was terrible with Steve Francis as his anchor... So, are we now suggesting we trade Harden and Parsons for a better anchor...? Like I've said for so long... You either change the managerial environment/culture of this team or change the roster... You can't do that by just adding a guy like Carmelo or Kevin Love into it... you have to remove important pieces... Because those pieces have a tremendous influence on the rest of the roster...
We had a foul to give... so even if our players didn't execute, we had the fail safe option to foul off the ball...IF our coach had ANY idea of what he was doing. This should have been plan A in the first place to purposely shave some time off the clock. But more importantly have SOME sort of coaching strategy to impact the game to give our f@&!#* rockets an advantage. Instead "coach" mchale let it ride out like always, spouting out titles of motivation posters, and watched on the sidelines as Lillard shot a very uncontested 3. The coaching staff is there to support the players and they failed. People have lost jobs for far less and this is only one small example of the many mistakes Mchale made.
Why did McHale call the second time out with .9 seconds left? Was it to take Lin out? It seemed to help the other team out because now they had a better stategy. Yet we didn't change anything. Wow, he's worth keeping.
i'm assuming everyone's opinions on Mchale are based solely on the performance of the team during this years first round. you have to keep in mind this team had a damn good season. i think bringing in a new coach would only set the team back.
He's hellbent on proving that Moreyball works and that the coach is irrelevant. I hope for his sake he's right, but something tells me a year from now the exact same threads will be surfacing on this site.
There's no chance of him quitting. They haven't been eliminated and, more importantly, the votes will come through that Sterling has to sell the team. Plus, coaching CP3, Griffin and Redick? Great core, great bench, great market. Cushiest coaching gig, aside from Miami.
Harden playing inconsistent defense, not showing the playoffs as the "leader" of this team in his third year facing postseason competition... check... Parsons going from promising defensive player, credited for his effort to now missing in action wannabe third star, revealing his "untouchable" label as idiotic... check.. Lin going from Linsanity to unreliable... check... Seems to me this team HAS been regressing... What the devil are you talking about..? This team wouldn't miss a beat with a new coach... if anything they could only improve...
We added DH this season and still failed to get out of the first round. And it wasn't like DH was playing bad basketball. He became a part of the team and played hard. We put up big numbers most nights but it never felt secure due to bad defense. There is no leadership from top to bottom and that's 100% on McHale.
