Awesome, i'v been feeling exactly the same about technology lately. I'm in high school, and it really hit me when one class, we had a substitute teacher who let us talk freely, we also had no assignments that class either. So i'm sitting at a table of 6, and i look around the table to talk to someone, and every single person was staring at there phone. The classes are an hour and 45 mins long, over that time, i individually tried to start a conversation with each person at my table. Each of the 6 basically turned me down, one even told me that i was annoying and to leave her alone. I sat just staring around and out the window the whole class, saddened at ugly truth of our society. There is something deeply wrong going when you have 6 teenager all the same age, with no work to do, freely allowed to talk, completely silent, just staring at a phone, with nothing but one or two words said to each other over a 2 hour period of time. Although i'm a high school student, i have no apps on my phone, no twitter, no instagram, no games of any kind. The only thing i'll do on my phone is check clutchfans. Now that i realized it, when i look around at my classes, its just ridiculous, 25 kids out of a 30 student class will be staring at there phones. It's pretty sad.
I don't know. I usually do that when I don't want to talk to the other people in my class / lecture, and I just want to talk to my actual friends. Don't think much of it man lol. Like, its not that I'm not talking to you because I'm addicted to my phone, its that I don't want to talk to you and I'm using my phone to send a message to everyone there (that I don't want to talk to you). High school is like that man, cliques are even more apparent in high school. Wait till college, people are a lot more open and friendly. In high school though, we are all just wasting our time away until we hit college. Also, its pretty hard to talk to people without a general interest. Back when I had speech in high school I always talked sports, girls, and alcohol with people when we had free time (always had free time).
kids these days are looking down but they are using their phones and internet to meet up with other people... even relationships so this makes no sense.
I had no cell phone in high school and the ones who did have phones back then could only text message... no qwerty keyboard either. Funny to think how we even survived back then before smart phones. My dad had a kick ass (it was at the time) motorola flip phone from when I was in middle school. I think that was the first time I made contact with a cell phone. He made sure I never used it because it was expensive to use back then. Spoiler
It got a little corny towards the end, but in overall it was a nice video. I remember when I was a kid and the guys would say "let's play football" it actually meant going outside to play football, now it generally means to plop your big rear end in front of a tv and pretend you tackled somebody. ....... ....... .......
