I'm going to wait until they actually pick up his option... But, if true... Then Morey's not as bright as some of you have made him out to be... and Les is going along for the ride...
It's honestly not a stab to the heart if McHale stays as head coach. Of course I'd prefer a better coach, but McHale already has the respect of the players and knows how each one works. But if you're going to keep McHale, you MUST improve the coaching staff in every other aspect. We need more veterans who can bring in a defensive mindset.

And once we get smoked in the second round -if we're lucky enough to make it- will Morey come to his senses? McHale won't coach this team to a championship, and the sooner we can move on from this failed project the sooner we can rebuild our team and get over the most disappointing season in ten years. Get rid of him. Bring in a guy like Stan who doesn't tolerate bullspit, and we can compete for rings with a retooled roster.
I think Morey wants to bring in Stan Van Gundy. I think SVG said he most likely wasn't going to coach next year due to that his kids were in highschool and didn't want to move state because of that.
