Tweeting @dmorey is a way to vent frustration, but ultimately pointless.

Besides, Morey knows that the Rockets' success next season depends on improving our lineup, plus he knows when we sign Lowry or Rondo or Melo or whoever, all of us idiot fans will be back loving him again.

You guys just cannot figure that one of the major reasons that Morey strongly supports McFail is that he needs this puppet. Ability is just not as important as being willing to follow every order from the GM and the boss.

You know, nowadays it is hard to find a totally willing puppet...

I disagree on Mchale's coaching ability. He just needs to get that big hole called "Kelvin Sampson" filled the right way and oh yeah, have Morey do that thing he does.

It is ridiculous. That's what I was telling the poster. Said he was through with the Rockets ! Right.

With so many good coaches on the market and with such a talented team, we're still keeping this guy?

    Good decision.

We need a hall of fame leader and continuity.

We'll hire an assistant to deal with Xs and Os and other lower level concerns.

I still remember when many posters pointed out McHale's mistakes in handling Lin and Asik last season, not giving them minutes when they should have been, and LOH's and LOFOH's calling those perceptive posters LOF's for pointing out McHale's deficiencies.

I'd be ok with this if we had a young team, but we have a 28 year old Dwight in his prime. We can't be wasting away years experimenting with a coach.

On the one hand, I do give the Rockets credit for being deliberate about this, and not reacting overly to the mistakes make in this series.

But on the other hand, As Morey has said repeatedly, these chances do not come around very often - we have to treat these years as precious. Especially with Dwight in his prime.

I have never been strongly against MchHale before these playoffs and who knows he could improve. I don't write him off. ... but is it really in the Rockets best interest to have an inexperienced coach, one who is learning on the job, as their head coach for one of these "precious" years, which may never come back again?

We will never be successful if we make major changes every off season... this team needs to be aloud to grow, and that can only happen organically thru learning experiences.

A lot of y'all tend to blame Mchale for a whole lot of stuff that I'm not sure he even has any real effect on... Bottom line is; the players let us down this year not Mchale.

Give me a break. Rivers in his first year on the job won Coach of the Year for taking a Magic team full of castoffs and scrubs to a .500 record. Carlisle in his first 2 years as coach took the Pistons to the Semifinals and Conference Finals. Don't even mention McHale in the same conversation with those two.

    I agree if:
    A) McHale's influence helps being in Melo, Bosh or Love.
    B) we get experienced assistant coaches...

...but my belief is that McHale is thinking of retirement.

The fact that you put Xs and Os as a lower level concern, when it was the reason we lost this series, is quite disturbing.

I'm ok with this. The team won 54 games and lost to a Blazers team that had its 2 stars play the best games of their careers. To me there is no shame in that. Before the season I thought it would be a first round exit at best second round. Even if you don't like McHale you can't deny that along with Dream and CD that they have had a big impact on Dwight this season. So if they want to give McHale 1 more year with the core players I'm ok with it as long as they improve the talent of the players mainly the bench and get a top notch defensive assistant. You can't deny the team really took a bad turn after Sampson left.

All in all I'm willing to give this one more year. But it's just my opinion.

Yes, and that's why it is important to act swiftly and decisively when something is not working out. So that you can get in a coaching staff that can have some longevity here.
