The Blazers have better depth than the Rockets and the series was a toss up. Was Terry Stotts a genius when the Blazers were in a tailspin? Coaching matters, just not in the way and to the extent some seem to think. I will trust Daryl Morey based on track record. People said the Heat couldn't win with Spoelstra as well. I remember when people wanted Doc Rivers head years ago. If Thibs or Pops or Carlisle become available then you consider it... but they are not available. The Rockets need to upgrade their rotation if they are going to do anything... They had starting quality players at only 3 positions.
So, they're gonna let him coach this one and final year left on the deal and then fire him next year? Meanwhile, you basically wasted a year then. Or are they gonna extend him beyond this one year? Terrible all around.

I can see many first round exits in the near future. Seems like every playoff team has a four star general leading their players and we have maury's pet project. It's ok during the regular season but Project Mc has no soul therefore cannot make any real time adjustments. Save the future, Destroy Mchale.

I doubt it. I feel like I'm at a knee jerk convention. Guess I'm totally in the minority but time will tell the tale. I expect an off season addition that will calm all this down. In any case there was pretty zero that he would not get another year with Dwight Howard. So just accept it or stop following the Rockets as you'll NEVER be happy. Who needs that ?
People say that coaches don't matter much, but look at the teams that won ships the last 30 years. There's a ****in% pattern for a reason. good coaches have that slight advantage that wins the game 7's and wins the close games in the playoffs
