The Rockets should simply replace their coach. Outside of Houston, most observers believe that McHale was outclassed by Stotts and that was the difference in this tightly contested series between two evenly matched teams.

McHale's failure is a product of several decisions he made during the season. Here is a brief list:

    - Giving up on the twin towers too soon. He never integrated Asik into the rotation in a meaningful way. Though Asik played well in this series, he was not the dominant player that he can be and that's due to a lack of experience playing with Howard and others.

    - Prioritizing Beverley over Lin. Beverley had a rough series due to health, but Lin proved that he is the better, more dynamic player. He figured prominently in their 2 wins plus Game 1 and should've been featured alongside Harden all along. That backcourt should be dominant, but it wasn't given a chance to develop after a promising first year. Some of those issues showed up in the 4th quarter of Game 6.

    - Failing to motivate Harden to improve defensively. He was too often a weak link.

    - Playing Parsons/Jones on a PG. Why? It never worked.

    - Not integrating D-Mo, Garcia or Casspi into the rotation. They all have skills and could've helped the team.

Trade Lin for 2nd rd pick

    Sign Lowry

Use exemptions on Hawes, Avery Bradley, Mike Miller type

Look to package Asik, Parsons, Jones, Daniels, picks for a star SF/PF

If the Rockets are looking for a star like Love, Melo or Rondo (though I view Rondo as a marginal star), they will need to include Lin, Asik and Parsons in any trade. Phil Jackson might make that trade.

Lin and Asik improve their trade value with their performance in this series, so Morey could conceivably work a trade that doesn't include Parsons. However, I think Houston would be better off keeping their players and changing their coach.

We shall see if we can get Carmelo or other superstar. If we get third superstar but still have McHale, we won't advance past 1st round. Houston will win championship if we hire playoff experience coach like Adelman, JVG, or someone else.

This is going to a really interesting offseason. Will the coach stay and what roster adjustments will be made? For the first time since 2008, Morey is going to have an offseason to tinker with a roster that very close to being championship caliber.

Also I hope Morey changes his idiotic philosophy. What did that bring us this year huh Daryl?

It's weird that Adelman and JVG are the two names that keep coming up. Why not Rudy T too, lol. We're likely not going to hire a recent coach.

Does JVG even WANT to coach again?

    BINGO!!

If we keep this **gimmick** system, it won't matter who coaches the team....

And if we keep this gimmick system, I'll feel sorry for the next PG who plays for us. Even if it's Rondo.

    1) Get rid of McHale. I suppose we can go after Karl...but I think we can do better than him.
    2) Do not fire Daryl Morey yet, BUT turn up the heat on his seat. I wish Morey would tone down this "analytics" bulls**t some. Let's reincorporate the mid-range game back into the offense.
    3) Get rid of Lin
    4) I'd hate to get rid of Asik, but he can be valuable trade bait. If it takes moving him to get a player like Rondo, do it.
    5) Get another big man if we move Asik.
    6) Get rid of Garcia, Hamilton, Casspi
    7) Get a starting PG who's actually good at running an offense and defending. Such as Rondo. Or try to get Lowry back. The right PG would make life easier for Harden.
    8) Have Beverley come off the bench, he can be one of our sparks.
    9) Get a legit starting PF. My ideal would be Kevin Love, but landing him may be tough. Terrence Jones is not a starting-caliber PF, he needs to come off the bench.
    10) Bolster the bench
    11) I'd be open to trading Parsons.
    12) Do not go after Carmelo Anthony. Howard, Harden and Melo all like getting frequent touches and I'm doubtful the three can coexist. Egos might become a problem. Plus, Melo is a decent but not great defender...we need defensive improvement badly. Houston is already quite good at scoring points.

What say you if we go after a SG instead?

JHarden wants to play PG so let him and we get a SG instead.

Get rid if Lin, Casspi and Asik. Include tjones in a deal for a star player at SF or Pf.

Get a new coach. Preferably jvg.

    Go mode.

This team is nowhere close to championship caliber. Harden needs + defenders at the 1 and 3 to compensate for his complete lack of D, and unfortunately Parsons is at best an average defender. Lin and Asik are 16m in cap space that we aren't fully utilizing since we signed players that are flat out upgrades to fulfill their roles, and neither player is easily tradable due to their contracts. People who keep saying "Lin/Asik for picks", are morons - you can't just trade them for picks, you're going to have to take on salary in return, and no one wants to pay 15m each for a year of Lin/Asik.
