Three point shooting point guard. Maybe Sergio Llull?

2 significant wing defenders that can score aka Ariza

    Drafting young center to develop.

    New coach.

I was originally against Rondo, but man I've completely changed my mind on him. Rondo gives this team what they desperately need, a floor general. Rondo will run this offense very effectively and he would put guys like Harden and Dwight in the right spots to succeed. At times it seems like our offense is being run by a headless chicken. Rondo will fix that, and I just hope Harden can live with limited ball handling duties to let Rondo run the show. If they can get Rondo and maybe Thinodeau, watch out.

Why do people keep mentioning Thibs? He has a contract with the Bulls and they're not firing him...

I couldn't disagree more on trading Asik and Lin. McHale, sure, but these two guys need to stay. Lin picked up when Bev was having high temperature, and had a decent first half of the season. Unless you can get CP3/Dragic/someone who's a superstar PG, don't trade Lin.

Asik took care of business when Howard was out. Straight up murdered suckers on the boards and blocks. Don't touch the centers. I really like TJones and DMo, but we need help on the PF position.

Speculation/hope due to Thibs and the Bulls FO not seeing eye to eye. Thibs, not liking the moves the Bulls are making because they're being cheap. Once again just pure speculation, but if the oppurtunity does arise that he's available LA and New York will try and pry him away. I'm hoping the Rockets try and steal him away from the Bulls, but it's just wishful thinking.

Well it's pretty obvious the number 1 thing has to be the coach. Unlike the other posters I don't necessarily think Mchale and staff need to be replaced but they have to rework their offense, I agree with the "no mid-range shots" on principle but if you watched the playoffs the Rox offense consisted of running around like headless chickens, and then giving the ball for either Harden or Howard to go ISO. On the other hand, Lilliard and LMA kept getting great looks, from game 1 when LMA shot 40 pts till the end when Lilliard closed us out with the 3.

Other than coaching we need a better defensive player, people are clamoring for Melo but he's just gonna slow the ball down, we need someone who can make plays for everyone else not just for himself.

Initially I didn't like the idea of a ball dominant pg next to harden .. Bit it wld be nice to have a playmaker and give harden some rest. He cannot carry the playmaking load. If rondo is a possibility then you can afford to keep a crappy defender like parsons, but I really hope he doesn't get more than $5.5 mil a year. Not worth it. I also think a guy like Blake or Darrell Armstrong will do much much better things for this team than Lin or Beverly (like the guy as a backup)).

Of course, bye bye McHale.. Like jvg but harden can't play that disciplined. Maybe Kenny smith or elie?

With a coach who actually leads and emphasizes D the rockets would be a lot better even with the exact same players. Looks what JVG did his first year here with Francis.

    That said

    Vet wing defender
    stretch 4
    upgrade at PG.

No, playmaking pg is more important. Dwight and harden have to be put in positions to succeed, ISO crap is only gonna work against bad teams like Portland. Portland will lose in 5 to spurs.

I think the value of Lin and Asik is at an all-time high right now because of what they done in the Playoffs. So i expect there is going to be suitors. But there is no way in hell the Rockets want to trade Asik giving how valuable he is off the bench for Howard. Or even play along with HOward. You see how important he is against the Blazers? If we want to trade him, we need a PF that can defend Aldridge...otherwise, it's a waste.

You think Lin's playoff play has made him attractive?

He played solid defense for most of the play offs, and played reasonable offense for a role player. There are teams that Lin will fit well on, IE do not have a ball dominant 2 guard or are more friendly to traditional 2 PG line ups (ala the Suns).

Lin is undervalued by Rockets fans, but that's because they tend to view him through the lens of Dragic/Lowry and his contract payment as well as there being significant skill overlap with Harden.

He's worth more to other teams.

Still, given his last year's salary don't expect a player that's as good as Lin in return. So given Morey's preference to upgrade the team with most every trade, I wouldn't be shocked if Lin's still on the Rockets next year unless he goes as part of a trade package to move Asik.

you got to be kidding on keeping lin. i mean come on he has a couple good games but overall not very good offensively or defensively . Lin is better off wearing another teams jersey. Asik i hope we keep, he is very good back up for Howard.

So you're saying Rockets, Knicks, Wolves 3 way deal?

    Rockets get Carmelo and Love

Asik, Lin, Parsons, Jones, etc and Picks are split up.

    Lowry
    Harden
    Melo
    Love
    D12
