Lillard. Utah was a better team when they beat us on the Stockton shot. I think the Rockets are a better team than Portland and that they were beat by the referees . . .
Seriously...? The Stockton shot was infinitely worse because that Rockets team was on its last chance for a championship.
Stockton. By far. This is just the first round, kids. If we can't win here, we're not really a contender yet.
Beat me to creating this thread. As everyone already wrote. The Stockton shot wins. In the WCF. Malone basically bearhugging. Yeah Stocktons shot. I made the dumb mistake of going to rewatch the Stockton shot 5 mins ago in an effort to feel better about Lillards shot. SO****INGDUMB I am. Just made me feel worse. Just want to cry after watching Stocktons shot again AFTER seeing What Lillard just did to us.
For me, the Lillard shot. Let me explain why. As a Clutch fan, it sucked like no other to lose the Stockton/Jazz one, but we had been very successful in the playoffs for 4-5 years including 2 ships. At the time, I thought well we'll just come back next year and take the next step not knowing at the time that was essentially our last gasp. THIS one.... We have waited SOOOO flipping long for a successful playoff run. Lakers in 2004 Dallas in 2005 Utah in 2007 Utah in 2008 Injuries in 2009 OKC in 2013 Now...this. We are 1-9 in our last 10 playoff series. Its like the basketball gods who were so good to us in the 90's have forsaken us since then. This was the first team I've really felt like was a threat since 1998. I'm not a young fan. I'm not getting any younger. As Dwight said tonight after the game, you gotta take advantage of every opportunity...you never know when you'll get your next one. So when we have a 2 pt lead with .9 seconds left.....and all we have to do is defend a catch and shoot without fouling and a guy his a dagger like that... I'm sorry but this one really, really hurts.
