Blurb about a favorite player of mine from MLB.com He's probably at best a second division centerfielder (true CF with avg hit/speed tools and + defense) but that's not too shabby for a 5th rounder.
And this is an example of why Andrew Aplin is such a fun guy to follow: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/QGPmpr0WV7g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and this excerpt from TCB's interview with Tyler Heineman

Andrew Thurman was assigned to Extended Spring Training today. Good news: Carlos Correa is back in the lineup for Lancaster tonight.
After his quiet season last year, I had almost forgotten about Brett Phillips, he's sporting a .320/.400/.485 line at QC, and he's still only 20. Early yet, but he may still be worthy of attention.
So far last years draft is turning out to be a flop. At least it looks like they nailed it the year before.
I think the point he is making is that it's too early to judge, regardless if you qualify it with a "so far"...it shouldnt even be judged in the first place.
I just think it is too early to judge in any way. One month can skew these guys numbers so much right now, the sample size is tiny. And it isn't like the draft class doesn't have guys showing promise, if you did want to look at how they are doing in that small sample Thomas Lindauer is off to a nice start at QC as is catcher Brian Holberton, and Tony Kemp has been outstanding at Lancaster Pitching wise Kent Emmanuel has looked very good at QC and Kyle Westwood is holding his own in Lancaster, which is obviously a tough environment for pitchers Yes, the top two guys are not off to good starts, but it's just way too early to judge how they will proceed as pros

Nearly all prospects struggle initially after they get promoted. It's not a big deal, especially for a fringe-y B- type prospect like Emmanuel.
Now if he can just get his big boy Twitter britches on. It is funny how it comes the day after getting called out for a lack of K's by a member of TCB.
I'd love to see Folty up in the big league pen. He may not be ready now but a mid-season promotion to the pen with an eye on a starting role next season would be awesome. And a mid-season promotion = no super two. It's win-win!
How often do guys successfully convert from reliever back to starter? It seems to have been a failure with guys like Joba Chamberlain. Chapman and Feliz have both been hit by injuries upon attempts to transition, though it's hard to say if that's just a fluke. Daniel Bard also flopped once he converted I guess it worked for Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija?
Roy Oswalt (Lets not forget he was coming out of the pen to begin with) Lance Lynn CJ Wilson Kris Medlen (though he just had TJS) David Price Johan Santana Edit: Chamberlain might have been a success, but the team never really committed to the move.
