And Who are my buddies? I dont really interact with anyone from these forums regularly. I just post. Again a generalization from you guys that is "insulting" to people who have been around and supportive of this forum.

I know what you guys are about and thats exactly why Im calling it out. Clutch/the crew have historically been above and better than this type of bait posting, PERIOD. Thats part of what made this forum the best fan forum on the internet. I tell that to all my friends who are fans of other teams.

This is the first time he's done anything like this that I can remember and I'm NOT the only Old contributing member calling it out.

Go back and look at my history, Im far from a LOF. All feedback ive ever gotten on this forum before today has been positive.

Am I agressive with my accusations, sure. I can admit that. If its hurting you guys, I apologize.

But at the end of the day, wrong is wrong-- and this post is the last thing this forum needs. It really won't help anything that you guys are trying to quell and I hope you guys realize that now in hindsight. Things are about to get worse, no matter what hapens tonight. Imagine whats gonna happen if Jeremy has a good game. Imagine whats gonna happen if he has a bad game.

I get it. Clutch worked hard to put that podcast together after a game only to be "greeted with boos". That hurts and it tough to deal with --and he had a poor emotional reaction because of it.

Either way, life goes on. This is my last post on the topic for tonight.
Im about to go enjoy some tacos, put the kid to bed, and get ready for the game.

Holy sht, are you kidding me, Clutch?

I think I need to take an extended hiatus from this site. I've been here since 06, checking in for the latest Rockets news and banter more or less every other day. This site was the bomb - definitely one of the premier NBA fan sites out there...

Now this site has devolved to crap. No, not because of Lin fans and Lin homerism. For the most part, that has been fine - there's maybe a handful of irrational Lin fans who can't be reasoned with or who spew crap about racism. The majority of Lin fans might post things in a way that is *biased* towards Lin, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's perfectly fine to say that "the turnover isn't representative of Lin's overall play" or that "Mchale's rotations are making Lin look worse than he actually is." These are NOT unreasonable arguments; they're *biased*, but they can be discussed and they contribute to the overall discourse of the Rockets.

The reaction from the other side... jeez, they have been unbearable. There are those who are willing to talk rationally and calmly, but more and more are now just posting stupid gifs, talking about how "Clutch owned all the LOFs," or just telling posters to STFU or GTFO because they aren't "real" Rockets fans. No substantive rebuttal whatsoever, but why do you need logic when you're a passionate true Rockets fan? Can people not seriously not spot the difference between Lin trolls and those who actually want to calmly discuss his play? This kind of environment is both insulting and incredibly juvenile.

To see that Clutch would stoop to this level and "troll the LOFs"... is disappointing to say the least. Clutch, you know you're "trolling" maybe a dozen posters at best? And you're really just marginalizing a large proportion of your loyal, contributing membership with that smug, accusatory tone?

Anyways, Clutchfans was once the CNN of Rockets discussions, but its now TMZ at best. LOFs may have started the fire, but it has been you and the rest of your "true Rockets fans" who keep fanning the flames.

    Sigh... there's always Reddit.

Reddit NBA is actually legit. Posters don't flame each other on there lol. Check out this comment in my user CP after I posted the "James Harden - Defensive Juggernaut" video

"I'm making an even longer Dummy Lin ****up video just for u LOFs. It will go viral, and u'll feel like idiots. Karma."

Someone got butthurt over a video everyone has seen already and I posted once lol. Even called mean LoF:(

LMFAO at Lin fans taking exception to the idea that they can disagree with the man they love.

It's real simple. No player has fans like Lin. None. They're obsessive. I've been on this site for years, and for what other player do we see personal highlights like Lin every day? None. Yes, occasionally a T-Mac or Harden highlight reel, but this is at another level. I guess it was pretty much the same with Yao.

And I feel bad for both Yao and Lin to have that kind of scrutiny- I don't know if it's a cultural thing or not, but it sure does seem like Lin fans are overly sensitive about anything said or written about him. I'm completely confident that many of the LOHs that post on here get that way because of the obsessiveness of Lin fans. Maybe some in that culture are so repressed to the point that they have to live vicariously through Lin- but it's quite obvious what they are doing.

And if you're Clutch, after a while you get tired of the obsessiveness over one player. Does it affect his opinions? Possibly- but it's really much more on LOFs. Again, when we didn't have Lin or Yao, criticism was fairly across-the-board. Individual players were never obsessed over like them.

Read into that what you will. But it's truth.

    LOLOLOL

Although Clutch, all you did was prove the obvious. I don't think this will cause them to budge on their hard stances.

And if Lin fans don't like it...well, no one's forcing you to stay here. Close your account, post on ESPN, whatever. My personal feeling is that if you support one player as opposed to the entire Houston Rockets team, you really don't belong here. Go post on www.jeremylinmakesmewet.com or something.

And I like Lin- I think he's sometimes unfairly criticized- but you LOFs make me want to dislike him. And that's a shame. So, for starters:

    1. Whoever posts Jeremy Lin highlights after every game, stop.

    2. When you feel the need to respond to a post about a Jeremy Lin f**kup, don't. At least not every time.

    3. Realize that- your life does have meaning beyond Jeremy.

    4. Rinse and repeat.

Are you dumb or just incredibly sensitive? You do realize that Clutch is an actual person that pays out of his pocket to keep this site running right? He has been REPEATEDLY attacked on his own site, on rational posts. Last year, when he said that Bev deserves to start on a radio show or something, the buthurt and outcry on here was unreal.

That's patently not true. And Jeremy Lin gets the same amount of criticism that Granville Waiters, Kenny Smith, and Rafer Alston did. Here's why:

    1. Houston Rockets fans are going to scrutinize point guards more. We're used to having great big men, so we're a bit biased against point guards. That's just how it is.

    2. We criticize the mistakes of 2nd-tier players more b/c they don't deliver the knockout, game-changing performance that 1st-tier players do which negates some of their f**kups. That being said, Harden has been criticized way more than Lin this series- if you can't see that, you're blind.

    3. See point above #1. Kenny Smith was KILLED by Rockets fans for many years. Heck, he was ripped to shreds for his performance in the 1994 Finals when Derek Harper made him his b**ch for 6 games- we only forgave him when he had a good game 7. And the same with Alston- actually, with Francis, too. We always give our point guards a very, very hard time. That's how it is.

As site runner and longtime moderator, I expect him to not let a couple of crazies turn him into one. If he has a vision of the kind of environment these forums should be, he should lead by example. Instead, he is just contributing to the bickering and keeping this dumb war going when the majority of true Lin crazies have already left.

Clutch held up a mirror & Lin fans are angry with what they see. This was an ingenious idea.

I'm not so worried about Lin being criticized, because criticism means there can be a solid discussion. Rather, what really ticks me off is the way posters react to each other. It used to be a little more civil than this, but now its just people posting stupid memes, and telling each other to STFU.

One side seems to do this a lot more than the other.
